The atmosphere in the Inter locker room has completely calmed down after the incident during the team’s Serie A draw away to Sampdoria which saw striker Romelu Lukaku and Nicolo Barella lose their tempers with one another.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the club are still deciding on whether to fine the pair, but that the tension that had boiled over during the match has all but dissipated behind the scenes.

The on-pitch spat between Lukaku and Barella was certainly evidence of intense frustration within the Nerazzurri squad as the team played out a frustrating goalless draw with Sampdoria.

However, according to the Gazzetta, this frustration was limited to the pitch, and not a manifestation of real fault lines or disputes among Lukaku and Barella or the players in the squad.

Meanwhile, the newspaper reports, the club have not yet taken the possibility of fining the duo for the unprofessionalism of losing their temper with one another during a match.
