Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has become irreplaceable in attack for the Nerazzurri this season, with the real question in important matches being who plays alongside the Argentine.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who note how the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Joaquin Correa, and Edin Dzeko are not guaranteed a spot, but Martinez certainly is.

Heading into tomorrow evening’s Champions League match against Porto, one of the main selection doubts that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will have concerns whether to start Lukaku or Dzeko.

What is clearer is that whichever the pair takes the pitch from the first minute, it will be Martinez playing alongside them.

If there have been suggestions at times that Lukaku and Dzeko could well cement a partnership that would keep the Argentine out of the team, that is no longer the case.

Martinez is now virtually the first name on the team sheet for the Nerazzurri, as the 25-year-old’s consistent performances have guaranteed Inzaghi something that no other forward in the squad can do.
