Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana agrees with his coach Simone Inzaghi that the team is capable of going all the way in the Champions League this season.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Amazon Prime ahead of this evening’s Champions League round of sixteen first leg against Porto, via FCInterNews, the 26-year-old expressed confidence regarding the Nerazzurri’s chances in Europe’s top club competition.

Inter will hardly be under the impression that winning the Champions League or even just reaching the latter stages of the competition would be anything other than a massive challenge.

However, the Nerazzurri have already shown what they are capable of on the biggest stage with the results that they got against Barcelona in the group stage this season, whilst recent wins against Napoli and AC Milan have given them further confidence.

Inzaghi stated that he sees no reason why the team cannot dream of lifting the trophy, and Onana agrees with his coach.

When it was pointed out that Inzaghi had said that Inter are capable of winning the Champions League, the keeper replied “He’s right, that’s exactly what I think, we already knocked out Barcelona I’m the first person to say we can win the trophy.”

“I’m always ready,” Onana added, “the coach made his decisions for the team and I’m very excited for tonight’s match.”

“Porto have an excellent team, but we have to just focus on ourselves and show that we’re better than them on the pitch.”
