Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is close to agreeing a new contract with the club and an announcement is not expected to be far off.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Turkey international is ready to commit his future to Inter and will put pen to paper on a new deal, set to run until 2026.

The midfielder and the club have reached a full agreement and his signature is reported to be the only thing missing, as Inter seek to tie him down for the next three seasons, after an impressive campaign in Serie A.

Calhanoglu is set to earn €6 million per season and an official announcement on the extension could be made before Inter’s Champions League Round of 16 second leg clash against Porto on 14 March.

The 29-year-old joined the Nerazzurri from city rivals AC Milan on a free transfer in 2021 and has made 77 appearances in all competitions, scoring 11 goals.
