Inter can hardly justify the fact that they find themselves eighteen points back from Napoli in the Serie A table with inconsistent performances in the league when they’ve proven themselves in the biggest matches, including against the Partenopei themselves.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who argue that the Nerazzurri must do better in terms of consistency, as there is no excuse when their highest level is considered.

Inter have not simply gotten fluke results against a few top rivals, but have deserved their victories against the likes of Barcelona, Napoli, and Atalanta, whilst two derby matches saw the Nerazzurri comprehensively outplay their city rivals AC Milan.

In the view of the Gazzetta, it is absurd to see the team looking so far from this level in scattered league matches, and there is no defense for the coach and the players when they let their levels drop like that.
