Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi made a point of telling his players that they must cut out certain complacent habits if they’re to avoid more performances like the one that saw the team fall to a 1-0 defeat against Bologna.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that this was the key theme of the discussion between the coach, the directors, and the squad in the return to training following Sunday’s Serie A loss.

Given the disappointment of Sunday’s loss and the accompanying mediocre performance, Inter’s directors were all in attendance at today’s training session, with the squad back at the training centre after having been given yesterday off to rest.

According to FCInterNews, before convening with his players, Inzaghi convened with the directors, having a discussion about what needs to happen for the team to turn a corner.

Then, as the coach always does in the first training session after a match, Inzaghi spoke with the entire squad to analyze the problems that had emerged in the previous match.

Given that Inter’s surprise loss away in Emilia-Romagna was an Inter performance with no shortage of faults, the coach had a lengthy discussion where he noted to his players many of the moments where they lost their focus and did not play the match at the right pace.

The coach emphasized to the squad that they must cut out each of the habits that he saw from them on the pitch against the Rossoblu at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara if they’re to get back on track and secure a top four spot in Serie A.
