After winning the first leg of the Champions League semifinal, Inter Milan defender Francesco Acerbi insists that his team hasn’t achieved anything just yet.

The Nerazzurri started the match against AC Milan in superb fashion, launching an unstoppable onslaught on Mike Maignan’s goal.

Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored in the 8th and 11th minutes respectively, but the Beneamata could have scored more in what was a complete domination in the first half.

The Rossoneri displayed signs of improvement at the start of the second half, but the result remained unchanged, as Inter head to the second leg with a two-goal advantage.

Yet, Acerbi wasn’t in the mood to celebrate the first-leg win. The former Chievo and Sassuolo defender says the team hasn’t done anything just yet.

“We created many chances and played a good game. But then we entered badly in the first 20 minutes of the second time,” said the Italian international in his post-match interview with Sky Sport via FcInterNews.

“We have to be very careful given the return fixture because we haven’t achieved anything yet.”

“Is the final closer? No, absolutely not. At least I don’t feel this way. We haven’t done anything yet, everything remains in the balance.

“Tuesday will be another big match, the details will make the difference and we need to keep our concentration high.”

While he admits that Milan were missing their most important player in the shape of Rafael Leao, the Inter defender believes that his team’s plans shouldn’t depend on the Portuguese’s availability for the second leg.

“Our game must always be the same. Leao is perhaps the strongest player they have, but we have to think about our own game.

“We can achieve something that was unimaginable at the beginning of the season, but we have to do something more than we did today.”
