Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan sees his teammates as the key to his success at the Nerazzurri.

Speaking to InterTV, via FCInterNews, the 34-year-old gave his thoughts ahead of the upcoming season.

Former Roma, Arsenal, and Manchester United midfielder Mkhitaryan is gearing up for his second season in an Inter shirt.

Having arrived on a free transfer from the Giallorossi last summer, the Armenian enjoyed a very positive first campaign with the Nerazzurri.

Whilst many expected Mkhitaryan to primarily be a signing to add midfield depth, he proved himself to be a key starter.

It didn’t take Mkhitaryan long to cement his place following a couple injury niggles. After that, the former Roma man was virtually undroppable from the Nerazzurri’s starting eleven.

The 34-year-old just seem to be exactly the right man to give Inter’s midfield a sense of balance.

Mkhitaryan’s technical quality, vision for the game, and tireless engine meant that he formed a very effective central trio with Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella for long periods of the campaign.

However, for his part, the Armenian is humble. He credits his teammates for helping him to enjoy a successful first season.

Now, he’s ready to go straight into his second.

Asked what his secret is, the Armenian replied that “It’s my teammates, they’ve always given me a hand.”

“I’ve always done my best to help my team win matches,” he added. “I’m here to play, to write history with this club. And I’m ready to do so again this season.”

Mkhitaryan stressed that “We’re ready to work, to give everything so that we can be prepared and start the season in the best way possible.”
