Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij is excited ahead of his sixth season with the Nerazzurri while expressing his delight with the whole environment.

The 31-year-old joined the Beneamata as a free agent in 2018 after seeing out his contract with Lazio. He had spent four campaigns in the Italian capital before making the switch to San Siro.

Therefore, the Dutch defender has accumulated immense Serie A experience under his belt after nine years in the Peninsula.

He has already collected a Scudetto title, two Coppa Italia trophies and three Italian Super Cups.

Yet, the experienced defender remains motivated and excited ahead of the upcoming campaign.

The former Feyenoord man attended an event in Osaka last Tuesday alongside Inter captain Lautaro Martinez and new club signing Marcus Thuram.

De Vrij expressed his delight with the whole environment at the club while also thanking his Japanese hosts.

“I have been at the club for 5 years now, this will be my sixth year. I feel great, we have a beautiful environment,” said the Netherlands international while speaking at the event via FcInter1908.

“We have achieved important goals and we want to continue to grow and improve.

“I thank you all for your passion, you have made us all feel welcome.”

The experienced defender may have lost his starting spot last season following some underwhelming displays, but still earned a contract extension until 2025.
