Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta is very happy with both coach Simone Inzaghi and Davide Frattesi.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri executive gave his thoughts on both of the pair as well as th Milan derby against AC Milan this evening.

Inter are now just moments away from playing in the first Milan derby of the season.

This will be the biggest test of the Nerazzurri’s season yet.

And for different figures within the club, that will mean different things.

For coach Inzaghi, there have been bumps in the road in his two seasons and counting in charge. But at the same time, the 47-year-old has managed to guide the Nerazzurri to four trophies already as well as the Champions League final last season.

Therefore, this evening’s derby is now a fixture that Inzaghi is familiar with.

And the former Lazio coach will have to prove all over again that he is up to the task at the helm of Inter.

Meanwhile, for midfielder Frattesi, this evening will be the first Milan derby that the 23-year-old plays in.

Frattesi is not in the starting eleven. However, there is every chance that the midfielder will come off the bench for Inter after plauying a starring role for Italy during the international break.

Beppe Marotta Happy With Both Simone Inzaghi & Davide Frattesi

Regarding coach Inzaghi, Marotta said that “Inzaghi is still very young.”

“He’s adapted to a different environment compared to when he was at Lazio,” the Inter CEO observed.

“He’s acquired greater confidence, and determination in his leadership.”

Marotta said of Inzaghi that “‘I’ve seen him improving a lot, and he was already a good coach to begin with.”

“Today he gives Inter certainty. And it’s the performances as well as the results that give this certainty.”

And regarding the usage of midfielder Frattesi, Marotta said that “Inter participate in several competitions.”

“We were obliged to try and create a competitive group.”

“There are starters and then there are other starters – I prefer it that way to having eleven starters and then backups.”

Marotta noted that “The group is ready to play a season that can have more than fifty matches,” the Nerazzurri CEO observed.

“There will be room for everyone to play, Frattesi is an intelligent guy.”

Marotta made clear that “There will be time for all the players to prove their worth.”

And asked whether Inter are targeting the Serie A title, Marotta replied “Definitely, yes. We have to be ambitious.”

“Inter and Milan are certainly among the teams fighting in the top places in the table. We’re where we want to be, and we want to compete on the biggest of stages.”
