Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez has never been so clinical in front of goal but he gives the props to his teammates who are helping him achieve such high feet.

The Nerazzurri skipper has thus far scored 14 goals from 15 appearances across all competitions this season.

Last night, he entered the pitch to convert the spot kick that sealed a 1-0 win over RB Salzburg.

This victory allowed the Italian giants to book their place in the Champions League Round of 16 with two matches to spare.

Inter will be looking to snatch the first place in the group at the expense of Real Sociedad.

As for Martinez, he opted to thank his teammates for their great support.

“This win gives us great satisfaction. We are very happy because qualifying when there are two matches left to finish the group means that we have done well,” said Lautaro in his post-match interview with Mediaset via FcInterNews.

“The group stage matches are tough as we’re facing excellent teams, but we have to finish the job.

“I always thank my teammates because I lend them a hand and they do the say to me.

“It’s thanks to them that I’m enjoying this great moment. They help me immensely on the pitch.

“I am proud to be in this team and obviously I also thank the fans who came here too in the cold.

“It’s important to play these matches in Europe, for us and Inter. The Italian league is equally difficult and we want to succeed in there too.”

The Argentine finished 20th in this year’s Ballon d’Or rankings. But he’s gunning for a higher finish next time.

“The Golden Ball? Winning trophies and scoring goals certainly count, So I hope to be further ahead next year.”
