Inter Milan stars Lautaro Martinez, Nicolo Barella, Federico Dimarco and Matteo Darmian should all sign contract renewals next year.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInter1908, the Nerazzurri have almost finalized the agreements with the four players.
However, penning these deals isn’t deemed an urgent matter, unlike Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s extension.
As we reported earlier today, Inter are eager to ink a new deal with the Armenian before the end of the year.
The management would like to take advantage of the Growth Decree before its abolishment at the start of 2024.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri are desperate to finalize their new contract with Mkhitaryan in the next few days to save on his gross wages.
Lautaro Martinez, Matteo Darmian, Nicolo Barella & Federico Dimarco Set To Ink New Inter Milan Deals In 2024
On the other hand, Lautaro and the Italian trio aren’t eligible for the Growth Decree in any case. Therefore, inking these four deals in 2023 wouldn’t bear any additional advantages.
Nevertheless, the source believes that the white smoke is about to emerge on the Lautaro front.
The club captain has a contract valid until 2026. But the club would like to tie him to a long-term contract lasting until 2028. The same goes for Barella and Dimarco.
As for Darmian, his contract will expire at the end of the season. But while the club has an option to automatically renew it for another year, it seems that the management prefers to find a bilateral agreement with the veteran.
So while the Nerazzurri didn’t set strict deadlines for the renewals, the source expects the four players to sign their new deals at the start of the new year.
