Tuttosport writes today that both Massimo Moratti and Erick Thohir have been impressed by Walter Mazzarri’s way to handle the team. Thohir who arrives in Milano on Tuesday is said to be more convinced of renewing the coach’s contract until 2016. The discussions will most probably start before the end of the season and Mazzarri’s answer could depend on if he is guaranteed the reinforcement in the attack that he wants. Mazzarri wants a striker that is ready to deliver straight away, like Vidic and Hernanes, to be able to reach the Champions League next season.

For you that are saying no, it seems you have forgot what inter is lacking. Since mou left we were looking for a coach to start a good cycle, meaning a good basement. In Italy mazzari has proved himself to be that coach. A coach that builds good basis for clubs.
And that’s y moratti said in his recent interview that mazzari has started to do what his knows better. Which is building teams from scratch.
The defensive line for Inter has not been this solid since Mourinho’s time. People need to understand that you cannot transform a team overnight, especially for a team that was in such a chaotic mess as Inter was both on and off field with new coach staff, new management and even a new owner. Add to this a low moral, unfortunate referee decisions (eg. penalties = 0) and several legends in their final year. It takes time, but I feel optimistic with Mazzari and think once we get some real reinforcement just like during this January window, we can really fight for Serie A next or next-next season.
