Inter Milan Vice-President Javier Zanetti has denied any “tip-off” to Nerazzurri ultras to investigators regarding the Curva Nord scandal.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report on the executive and former captain’s testimony yesterday.

Yesterday, Inter Vice-President Zanetti spoke to prosecutors regarding ties with ultras group the Curva Nord.

Investigators have been speaking with many figures at Inter and AC Milan as part of their crackdown on alleged illegal activities by the Curva Nord and Curva Sud ultras groups.

The aim of these interviews has been to determine the degree to which Inter and Milan may have facilitated alleged illegal activities by their ultras groups.

Investigators had already questioned Inter coach Simone Inzaghi earlier this week.

And yesterday, it was the turn of Zanetti to speak to the investigators.

Prosecutors spoke to Zanetti for around two hours yesterday, according to the Gazzetta.

The Inter Vice-President and former captain admitted that he had spoken with ultras leader Marco Ferdico, now under arrest, regarding tickets for the Champions League final in 2023.

Zanetti told investigators that he had brought up the issue internally. He denied that he spoke to Nerazzurri CEO and now-President Beppe Marotta.

However, Zanetti denied that he had ever felt that the ultras had threatened or intimidated him.

Zanetti characterized the contacts he has had with the Curva Nord as “normal” and “calm.”

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta report, Inter Vice-President Zanetti vehemently denied any “tip-off” to the ultras regarding the current crackdown.

And Zanetti also answered questions about Antonio Bellocco.

Bellocco was an Inter fan, with connections to the ‘ndrangheta organized crime family.

Andrea Beretta, leader of Inter ultras group the Curva Nord, murdered Bellocco last month.

According to the Gazzetta, Zanetti told investigators that he had met Bellocco once. Nerazzurri ultras introduced the two at a match.

However, the Inter Vice-President denied that there were any serious contacts with Belocco.
