Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck grasps the magnitude of the challenge of playing on an artificial pitch in tonight’s game against Young Boys.

During his pre-game interview with Prime, as reported by FCInterNews, the 23-year-old insisted his team won’t seek excuses as they seek an all-important three points.

Simone Inzaghi’s men have enjoyed a dream start to their UEFA Champions League campaign.

Indeed, Yann Bisseck was in the starting line-up when the Nerazzurri held Manchester City to a gutsy 0-0 draw at the Etihad Stadium.

They followed up on that with a thumping 4-0 home triumph against Red Star Belgrade last time out.

By contrast, Young Boys have lost their first two league-phase matches to Aston Villa and Barcelona via an aggregate score of 8-0.

Therefore, Inter should feel optimistic about taking their point tally to seven at the Stadion Wankdorf.

However, the Italian giants would be naive to take anything for granted.

On top of that, Inter must cope with a severe injury crisis.

Playing on synthetic turf could be challenging, and Bisseck knows it.

Asked about a congested fixture schedule, Bisseck replied; “That’s football, there are lots of games to play.

“So it’s normal for players to start getting injured.

“To maintain the level, you need a deep squad. I believe we are in good shape; we have many strong players who are always ready to step on the pitch.

“We can’t use it as an excuse, it’s a common situation for all teams. So we’re ready for the upcoming challenges.”

Bisseck also discussed the pitch.

“That’s why we had an extra training session, to get used to the field. But we shouldn’t make excuses.

“We just need to focus on playing. The game will likely be faster, which could benefit us in possession.

“Some of our players might already be used to this from past experiences.

“I believe we are a strong team with technical players, so it shouldn’t be a big problem for us.
