Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan admits that the Nerazzurri “caused problems” for themselves in their 1-0 Serie A win over Venezia.

The Armenian reacted to the match speaking to InterTV at the end of what proved to be a nervy victory, via FCInterNews.

In the end, Inter got the three points they were after against Venezia this evening.

But it certainly wasn’t a straightforward victory for the Nerazzurri.

There was late drama as Venezia wingback Marin Sverko thought that he’d equalized late in stoppage time.

However, the goal was disallowed that the 26-year-old had handled the ball as he turned it into the net.

Meanwhile, Inter had a goal disallowed for a narrow offside by wingback Federico Dimarco.

And there were a few instances in which Inter had what looked to be good chances, but shot high and wide.

They also faced Filip Stankovic, a Nerazzurri youth team goalkeeper on loan at Venezia, who produced a string of outstanding saves against his parent club.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan Admits Inter “Caused Problems For Ourselves” Vs Venezia

After the match, Inter midfielder Mkhitaryan admitted that “We caused problems for ourselves.”

“We have to improve in that aspect. Because it was a match that could have been pretty easy in the end, but instead it was very tricky.”

“We have to grow in terms of killing matches off.”

“We know that sometimes you have to be patient,” Mkhtiaryan said. “You can’t always win 3-0 as some would say.”

“We have to just focus on ourselves and keep working.”

Mkhitaryan then noted that “Now we’re playing in front of our fans, which gives us confidence.”

“We want to make the fans proud,” the former Arsenal and Manchester United man said.

“We hope that they’ll keep supporting us over the next couple matches. Because they’re important for us.”
