Inter Milan have gotten a step closer to signing Nicola Zalewski, who’s set to extend his contract with Roma to go out on loan.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.
Inter are pushing to sign wingback Zalewski from Roma.
The 23-year-old is the player the Nerazzurri have identified as their main target to replace Tajon Buchanan at wingback.
However, the exact formula of a deal for Zalewski has been a bit up in the air.

At the moment, Zalewski’s contract with Roma runs out at the end of June.
Therefore, the Polish international has looked as though he could leave on a free transfer at the end of this season.
Naturally, the Giallorossi want to avoid that eventuality. Therefore, they’ve been working to offload Nicola Zalewski during the January transfer window.
Marseille have been pushing to sign the Pole. They reportedly have been ready to offer around €6-7 million.
However, Inter’s entrance into the race to sign Zalewski has changed things significantly.
The player concerned is keen to Serie A. His priority would be to join Inter.
But the Nerazzurri have been aiming to sign Zalewski on loan rather than on a permanent basis right away.
That would not be possible if the 23-year-old’s contract with Roma is set to expire at the end of June.
However, Sky reports that Nicola Zalewski is set to sign a new deal. That would facilitate a loan move to Inter.

I hope is an upgrade on buchannan …? becos there is a need for skill of dribbling and speed on the wings, which is necessary for goals creation.
Buchanan has it but it’s hard to play with Dimarvo and Augusto who both have been very solid for the team for him to usurp either or. Good he goes on loan for now but did like his skill but wish we used him more when rotating the team.
He’s def better than Tajon, Younger too.
