According to SportsMediaset Walter Mazzarri has made Napoli’s Marek Hamsik his number one target this summer. The Inter coach is so desperate to add the Slovakian international to his squad that he would be prepared to sacrifice Fredy Guarin or Mateo Kovacic. The fans favourite has experienced a difficult season in Naples under new boss Rafa Benitez and the Southern club could be ready to cash in on one of their prized assets.

I think Benitez will like Guarin. He likes these weird players that are really talented but inconsistent. It won’t be a straight swap, we may have to add some M’s but given Hamsik’s horrible form this year, hopefully it won’t be more than 5M’s.

They would have to be complete idiots to accept a straight swap Guarin – Hamsik. Especially after Guarin’s appearances this season. I don’t think that Thohir will agree to give Kovacic away, so the only reasonable option is Guarin + 15 million or more for Hamsik, which is something we can’t afford at the moment.

We desperately need better wingers if Mazzarri stays for the next season. In central midfield we have Hernanes, Kovacic, Cambiasso, and Taider, plus Botta who can play as a trequartista. It’s not great, but they are all solid players. In my opinion, our priority for the summer transfer window have to be striker and both wingers.

if this is true, then we need to sell guarin and not kovacic. We need to sign Dzeko too, Icardi is indeed showing some promising signs to be a world class striker who will consistently score 20 goals or more in a season but with Dzeko in front hamsik in the middle, vidic in the defense, we will be able to strive for the scudetto and european league next season. Don’t forget also thar we have bardi, mbaye, benassi, laxalt, botta and longo who are growing mature.
