Inter Milan have already pulled off a trio of impressive signings this summer, but exploring opportunities in the Premier League can always be rewarding.
The Nerazzurri have thus far acquired Petar Sucic from Dinamo Zagreb, Luis Henrique from Olympique Marseille, and Ange Bonny from Parma.
Nevertheless, Giuseppe Marotta and Co. had developped a habit of poaching EPL stars, especially those seeking revival. The most obvious examples are Matteo Darmian, Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.
As we all know, most football fans identify the English top flight as the most exciting and competitive league in the world. Perhaps that is why premier league game tickets can be a bit pricey, but you would certainly find the best available offers by following the link.
With almost every squad packed with talent in all departments, some players are bound to struggle for playing time, despite possessing the required quality.
So let’s take a closer look at five players who could do with a change this summer, and could find their niche at Inter.
Renato Veiga (Chelsea)
The Portuguese defender is all too familiar with Serie A at this stage, having spent the last six months on loan at Juventus.
Chelsea poached the 21-year-old last summer after an impressive spell at FC Basel. However, the defender couldn’t carve himself a regular spot at Enzo Maresca’s court. Therefore, the Blues sent him out on loan to Juventus who were desperate for January reinforcement at the back.
The young Portugal international thrived in Igor Tudor’s system, acting as a sweeper at the heart of the three-man backline.
Hence, this is a profile that Cristian Chivu will likely appreciate, especially with Francesco Acerbi potentially on his way out.
However, Veiga won’t come cheap, as his price tag has already scared Juve away. Moreover, Bayern Munich have emerged as the favourites to sign him.
Jakub Kiwior (Arsenal)
The 25-year-old has been linked with a return to Serie A for quite some time. Kiwior made a name for himself in the Italian peninsula during his time at Spezia, which earned him a transfer to Arsenal in January 2023.
However, the Pole has been struggling for space in Mikel Arteta’s court, which shouldn’t take anything away from the defender. After all, he’s competing for a starting spot against some of the finest centre-backs in the EPL, namely Gabriel, William Saliba and Riccardo Calafiori.
The former Spezia man is a left-footed player. Therefore, he would be the ideal defender to rotate with Alessandro Bastoni.
Andre (Wolves)
With Hakan Calhanoglu seemingly keen to leave Inter, the club will need a new Regista. Although he’s not the most celebrated profile, Andre has been enjoying a rapid rise to stardom since making the move to Europe last season through the gates of Wolves.
The 23-year-old is a modern deep-lying playmaker blessed with a good vision and solid composure.
Unlike some of the other profiles on the list, the Fluminense youth product isn’t seeking additional minutes on the pitch. On the contrary, he’s a hungry up-and-comer who wants to prove himself at one of Europe’s elite.
Yves Bissouma (Tottenham)
Like Andre, Bissouma is a Premier League midfielder who could be on the move this summer. While his characteristics are vastly different, he also represents a profile that Inter’s midfield is lacking.
The Mali international is a physical midfielder who is excellent at retrieving the ball. He can be the enforcer that Chivu is seeking in the middle of the park.
Moreover, the 28-year-old’s contract with Spurs will expire in 12 months. Hence, the North Londoners could be willing to sell him for a relatively low price.
Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)
Not so long ago, Marcus Rashford was the toast of the town in Manchester. Nowadays, he finds himself an exile at his own ‘house’, as Ruben Amorim had long passed his judgment.
Nevertheless, at the age of 27, the England international still has so much to offer, as he proved in his Aston Villa loan stint.
The versatile attacker can cope with various formations and occupy multiple roles in the final third. Hence, he would be a great addition to Chivu’s attack.
However, Rashford’s ultimate dream is to seal a move to Barcelona, while Bayern Munich are also in the fray.
And yet no mention of Harvey Elliot, who would be perfect in a 3-4-2-1….
