Antonio Cassano feels Simone Inzaghi “already had an agreement with Al-Hilal” and that the coach “took the p*ss” out of Inter Milan.
Cassano continued his scathing attack on the former Nerazzurri coach speaking on the Viva el Futbol podcast, via FCInterNews. He also criticized Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez.
Simone Inzaghi’s departure from Inter Milan to join Al-Hilal continues to cause controversy.
And one of the harshest critics of the 49-year-old has been former Nerazzurri striker Antonio Cassano.
Cassano had been consistently critical of Inzaghi whilst the coach was at Inter. However, he looks to have taken his attacks to a new level after Inzaghi’s departure.
Cassano holds that Inzaghi left Inter purely for financial motivations, and that the coach was disingenuous about this.
Cassano: “Inzaghi Already Had An Agreement With Al-Hilal, Took The P*ss Out Of Inter”

“I keep on saying it,” said Antonio Cassano. “He said he want abroad to study football, the Arab league… He’s taken the p*ss out of everyone, he’s taken the p*ss out of Inter fans.”
“Because he kept saying ‘love’ this and ‘heart’ that. Perfect.”
Cassano insisted that Inzaghi “went there to earn €25 million a year, and he already had an agreement beforehand.”
“That’s a fact,” the former striker said. “He destroyed Inter, and now the problems are starting to show.”
Meanwhile, Cassano also hit out at Inter captain Lautaro Martinez for his public criticism of teammate Hakan Calhanoglu.
“I respect Lautaro,” said the former striker. “But if you have something to say, and you’re angry, you go into the dressing room.”
“But putting a guy who’s done everything Calhanoglu, who’s never complained about anything or caused controversy, on blast like that?”
“He may even have the right to say, I’m tired, I want to go home,” Cassano said of Calhanoglu’s links to Galatasaray.
“But you can’t make him take all the blame. Because then, at a certain point, what willpeople say.”
“He wants to go back home, so it’s all his fault.”
“Lautaro made a mistake,” Cassano said. “If you have something to say to him, tell it to him to his face.”
Inzanghi was a great manager and didnt betray us he went to al hilal for money for sure but he coached us for 4 years ffs. No one cares about cassanos opinion
Inzanghi was a great manager and didnt betray us he went to al hilal for money for sure but he coached us for 4 years ffs
Inzaghi may have left on a whimper but he and his tactics brought in more money than Inter has every earned because of his results. He won more trophies in four seasons than any coach before him with a higher win percentage than most inter coaches in history. All on an aging squad and having to bring in free transfer players.
if you forget all that because he left to set up his family for generations due to the wealth offered to him by the arabs then you’re an
i diot.
Conte drove a Fiat overtook Inzaghi’s Ferrari, that shows the level gap, Inzaghi’s over reliance on same old players and tactic costs us the title, he fails to beat that mediocre Milan 5 times, he knows he is shite and time to go. I see the difference, Conte finds a way to win although not always pretty, he instills that winning attitude, while Inzaghi is hoping to win just like he did in the final, the face of a beaten and hopeless man, I could never forgive him for that night
Inzaghi truly failed inter in developing a younger squad and relied heavily on 30+ plus which has left us in a bind now as it is now more expensive to buy players we could have integrated into the team a season or two ago such as Leona and a few other talents in the league. We are going to pay the price for a season or two till we are able to refresh the squad with the next set of great younger players, same way psg/chelsea and most great teams have done switching to younger experienced players.
Leoni **** correction
Is he wrong about Inzaghi ? Don’t think he is…
doesn’t matter. cassano can keep his opinion to himself as i believe no one here give a f about it.
Hes right.. inzaghi betrayed inter. He already was busy in his head with his al hilal squad and it showed in the final. Thats exactly why lautaro had the right to react like this. He didnt named calagnoglu. it was adressed to everybody in the squad. Play with us.. or leave. dont be in your head with another team. All respect to lautaro.
Exactly !!
He was asked to elaborate and refused, marotta screwed up but it’s not really changed anything anyway.
As for Inzaghi, he’s a scumbag and I will never forgive him, I always argued with people on here about thinking he was overrated and said that if we’d kept conte (ie backed him) we’d have won at least another 1 possibly 2 now scudettos.
Conte left because he asked to be supported and the board refused
Inzaghi left because he’s a money grabbing POS who signed a deal behind our backs and as a club we are too nice to say nah mate you’ve got a contract.
I hope I’m wrong but I think we’re heading for a painful time
Inzaghi left for the money, sure, and he has tarnished his legacy somewhat, but he left after 4 seasons of being given nothing to work with in the transfer market… Your man Cunte was given, Lukaku, Hakimi, Barella and others, but jumped ship the second he was told there was no more money…. don’t really see the difference, other than Cunte quit sooner….
