Inter Milan are targeting an attack of six players with the signing of Ademola Lookman this summer transfer window.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nigerian will help facilitate the transition to a 3-4-2-1 shape.
Inter Milan are working to sign Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman. That has been the bombshell of the last couple days, and could redefine the Nerazzurri’s summer transfer window.
The big question is how this move will affect Inter’s squad-building.
Inter already have four out-and-out forwards in their squad next season – Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, Ange-Yoan Bonny, and Francesco Pio Esposito.
Inter Targeting Six-Player Attacking Core With Ademola Lookman

Having five forwards might well be excessive if Inter are to play with just two strikers next season.
However, new Nerazzurri coach Cristian Chivu has already flirted with the idea of switching to a 3-4-2-1 shape. And that is the kind of role that he sees for Lookman.
The Nigerian is more suited to playing in a withdrawn role than as an out-and-out striker.
Meanwhile, midfielder Davide Frattesi has always looked more comfortable in the final third than he has with his other duties in midfield. Therefore, he will play as an attacking midfielder under Chivu.
Accordingly, Tuttosport report, Inter plan to go into next season with six attacking options. Martinez, Thuram, Bonny, Pio Esposito, Lookman, and Frattesi.
Or else, if they miss out on Lookman, a player with a similar profile to the Atalanta forward.
These six players would essentially cover three slots in attack.
it’s kinda sad thinking about what if inzaghi was offered these players
he managed to get us to 2 UCL finals with Asllani Arnautuvic and Correa yet a new coach with far less experience and silverware gets the golden treatment
I get what you mean. I am ever grateful to Inzaghi and rate him very highly as a coach. he did what he did with an inter that Cunte left for dead. but honestly I don’t think Inzaghi would have done well with expensive toys, he’s a little like gasperini, does well with the mids.. he does not have the personality to control the egos of the big guns.. something which ancelloti or Cunte or guardiola or even Mancini can.. that being said I don’t know what to expect from master Shifu… I’m keeping my mind open.
i really don’t wish Asillani leave inter now, getting attackers and not having enough midfilders who can provide the services will not do any good for the team.
this just got me thinking that we may win serie a next season
Lookman then Leoni and Quentin Timber (if Hakan is sold) … and we are set! I would like to see some geezers out of the team and maybe that Atlanta GK coming in as well. But we can’t ask for too much. The 3 players I named would cost 120+ mil.. lol
I would personally start next season with Bisseck, Bastoni, Pavard, Augusto, Sucic, Barella, Dumfries, Lookman, Lautaro, Pio in a 3-4-2-1. That is a terrifying team with Pio playing as our Haaland
Bringing in Dimacro, fratessi, Hakan(Timber) and Thuram off of bench in close games to hurt opponents more.
Ahh I should just dream on
you might be onto something. i would like another utility midfield player who can cover Barella as and when he need rest.
Those guys sitting on the bench would be very unhappy, I think.
Than they would have to rotate on their next game by having them on the starter position.
Perfect !!!
