Inter Milan striker Sebastiano Esposito is set to join Cagliari after the clubs agreed terms on the transfer.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that it’s a done deal, and the clubs are just finalizing the last few bureaucratic details.
It has always looked clear that Sebastiano Esposito will leave Inter Milan this summer.
The Italian youth team international has gone out on a number of loan spells. He has played for the likes SPAL, Venezia, Basel, Anderlecht, Bari, and Sampdoria.
Last season, Esposito was out on loan with Empoli. While his individual form was strong, this was not enough to prevent the Tuscans from suffering relegation to Serie B.
Therefore, Empoli did not sign Esposito on a permanent basis.
The 23-year-old returned to Inter, with whom he travelled to the United States for the Club World Cup.
Esposito even started a couple matches for the Nerazzurri at that tournament. However, that hardly changed his fate – he is not a part of Inter’s plans.
Done Deal – Inter Striker Sebastiano Esposito To Join Cagliari

There have been a couple of clubs to show an interest in signing Esposito this summer.
One of these is Fiorentina. La Viola have reportedly spent the last few weeks eyeing up a deal for the 23-year-old.
However, Cagliari are also reportedly keen on signing Esposito.
And according to Sky Spport Italia, it is the Sardinians who have gotten close to a deal for the Inter striker.
The broadcaster reports that Cagliari held talks with Inter yesterday. And these have brought them close to signing Esposito.
Now, the clubs are just working out the last few bureaucratic details.
And Esposito himself is keen on making the move.
Therefore, reports Sky, the 23-year-old will join Cagliari soon.
If either Seba or Pina have been any good, then bigger clubs than Cagliari and Sasuolo would be after them. Just move this guy on to Cagliari or wherever and use this mercato to buy some strong players so we can fight for top spots both domestically and in Europe.
Are Correa, Arnautovic, Tahremi, Sanchez any better than them. Wasn’t it better to leave Seb and then those 23 mil spent on Bonny add to existing budget and buy player who will make difference.
For 6 mil i would rather he stays and extend his contract. We gave Asllani a chance for 3 years, not our kid and hasn’t repaid that trust at all. And we can’t give Seb a chance for a season. It would have been better if instead we went for cb and cm which are priority, than go for Lookman and earlier for Bonny and leave Esposito to try as one of 4 strikers (and on occasion AM)
Even before Seb we had Pinamonti who is a solid 4th choice and instead we went for Correa, Arnautovic, Tahremi, Sanchez.. What good did that bring us?
Been banging this drum for over a decade now…. So many perfectly good, home grown squad players, sold for next to nothing, and then replaced with over-priced, overpaid mediocre players, who contribute next to nothing!!!!
If you fill out your squad with academy products, who will give everything for the club, then you will have a lot more money for marquee signings, who can make a real difference!!!
Yes, we’ve kept hold of Pio, which is hopefully a start of things to come, but right now we should probably have Zanotti, Agoume, Carboni, Stankovic and others in the squad too!! Will we ever learn????
Agoume and Zanotti
Agoume- starts every week for Seville, and is being linked with the likes of Arsenal…. would be perfect as an option for DCM in a double pivot….
Zanotti- being linked with the likes of Bologna, and always looked a threat going forward in the few fleeting appearances he got for Inter…
Or is it better to have Asllani and a 36 year old Darmian?? Yes, Agoume and Zanotti… we’re talking about squad players, not guaranteed starters….
In the last 7 years we had Carboni, Stankovic, Fabbian, Casadei, Zanotti, Pirola, Esposito, Filip, Salvatore Esposito, Pinamonti, Agoume, Di Gregorio, Vagiannidis, Zaniolo. Considering who we did bring over the years each and every one of them is good enough to be rotation player for us, and maybe 2,3 players would step up their game and become first team players.
