Al-Nassr have reportedly sounded out a move with the entourage of Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, via FCInterNews.
Galatasaray had reportedly been keen to sign the 31-year-old former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder.
However, the Gazzetta report that the Istanbul giants did not even make Inter an official offer.
A deal for Calhanoglu would simply have been out of reach financially for Galatasaray.
For one thing, the Turkish international was insisting on a wage increase from the €7.5 million net per season plus add-ons he earns at Inter. And he wanted at least a three-year deal.
Then, convincing Inter with an offer would have been no mean feat.
Reports indicate that Inter would want a fee in the region of €35-40 million for Calhanoglu.

According to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, Calhanoglu has become a target for a big club in Saudi Arabia, however.
Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr have already signed one holding midfielder in the form of Marcelo Brozovic.
They signed the Croatian international in the summer of 2023.
And according to SportItalia, Al-Hilal have also sounded out the entourage of Calhanoglu.

We will still need two defenders (Acerbi/Darmian) two mids or cams (Asllani/Mkhitaryan) and resolve the cf/cam position (replacing Taremi) with someone like Lookman or Nkunku.
And that’s only if we don’t lose, Pavard, Bisseck, Calhan, Frattesi or Sommer.

Cambiasso was the midfield version of Zanetti, very underrated. Very humble and intelligent. Probably won’t find many players like him.
Do you think this management have it in them to do that. There are many underrated midfield players that fits the description as a decent defensive midfield player but then again space must be made for such a transfer with players like Asllani. So it won’t happen anytime soon so keeping Hakan is the next best option other than selling him to find someone who won’t even play.
