Inter Milan have reportedly set their priorities straight heading into the final days of the summer transfer window.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the club is keen to reinforce two crucial areas of the squad.
Cristian Chivu has urged the club to sign a new midfielder after failing to strike a deal for Ademola Lookman.
Indeed, the 44-year-old coach is eager to add a versatile deep-lying playmaker to his well-knit squad.
Manu Kone would be an ideal signing, yet Roma are not interested in selling their prized asset.
Inter Milan Set Two Priorities for Transfer Window Finale

In addition to a new midfielder, Inter are looking to strengthen their backline with a top-class defender.
Furthermore, the Italian giants have no intention of signing a short-term solution.
Instead, they remain focused on finding a quality center-back who can make a long-term impact at the club.
Udinese’s Oumar Solet has emerged as Chivu’s top target, but the Friulians have set a high price tag.
Indeed, they ask for €30 million to sanction the 25-year-old’s exit.
I don’t get the whole we need a CDM, like has anybody not seen Sucic play? And we never sold hakan
We have much bigger needs than that, like a proper menace going forward hence the lookman saga
And we NEED a CB, unfortunately we look to be going after another waster from Udinese.
Players like bisseck & Solet are not up to the level required, we had a couple of our own youth guys who we gave up on, messed about so much that Leon went to sit in anfields stand as he’s not often even making the matchday squad there.
Worst summer I can remember – genuinely!
Rubbish, the Lookman saga delayed any real transfer activity, but then we low ball every offer and miss out anyway. Leoni, De Winter, Frendup would have been excellent additions, instead we have nothing. Now rumours of older players like Amrabat and Rabiot? Ridiculous.
Ederson, Kone, Solet and others are just dreams. The UCL finalists apparently can’t afford star players?
Well said Yuyu. Two UCL finals in three years and we can’t afford any players with real quality. Why would we want to keep a nearly 40 year old Mikhitaryan? Why not sell Calanoglu who obviously wants to leave even for 25m? You’re right: we low ball every offer and high ball every sale. Then, to cap it off, we dumb sell players like Pavard for 20m. The following are the players who we should have bought in this window if we were serious about a Scudetto and a real UCL threat: Lookman, Kone, Frendrup and Leoni. We should sell (or release): Mikhitaryan, Calanoglu, Taremi, Aslani, Acerbi and maybe de Frij. God help us if we lose Ausilio to Al Hilal………..
looking at things.. I think our Mercato is over. we are not going to get any player worth the salt at this time. we may end up panic buying another gagliadini successor at best.
Worst Mercato ever
