Inter Milan outcast Tomas Palacios is reportedly on the verge of joining Brazilian club Santos on a season-long loan.
According to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte via FCInterNews, there’s a buyout clause in the agreement.
Despite putting Tomas Palacios on the market, Inter have had to wait until late in the summer to offload their flop.
Indeed, after a failed transfer to Basel, Rayo Vallecano called off their pursuit of the Argentine at the 11th hour.
Inter Milan Flop Tomas Palacios Set to Join Santos

Palacios will leave Europe to return to South America, with Santos ready to announce his loan arrival from Inter.
Although they won’t pay a dime for the loan, the Brazilians must fork out €10 million to secure his services permanently.
However, it’s only an option as Inter failed to include a mandatory buyout clause.
Yet, they’ve managed to convince Santos to embed a sell-on clause in the deal.
Therefore, Inter secured a 30% resale percentage to profit from any future transfer.
With Palacios set to leave, the Nerazzurri will likely accelerate talks to sign Yusuf Akcicek from Fenerbahce.
Problem was they bought a player of 21 years, only to send him on loan. At that age you are only buying someone to be at least a solid rotation option in 25-man team. If he was 2, 3 years younger, than it would’ve been ok to spend so much on him. Not enough scouting done, another poor job. Hopefully Saudis buy that incompetent Ausilio.
Problem was that he is not Inter material. He does not have the quality to play at Inter, he was not a good option for Monza. He was boaught with high hopes and he failed.
Hopefully Ausilio will leave, so people here could have a better sleep at night.
Loaning players at different clubs is a well known practice – see Di Marco. What age was Di Marco when started playing in the first team?
Blame Ausilio and Marotta as much as you want, they are profesionals that did their jobs – there are so many good examples with limited amount of money. It’s not like other teams buy only players that have instant impact. Some players can adapt, others don’t, this is not Fifa. We could reach the UCL final 2 times with Inzaghi and de Europa League final with Conte and won 2 titles. With all the financial restrictions – give them founds, like they have at PSG and see what happends.
And don’t tell me that you are perfect at your job and that everything you do is just perfect, that all your ideas are impemented and everytime you try to change something is instantly approved and if works just perfect and you still have time to be here writing messages. If that is the case, maybe the aliens, not the Saudis will give you a new job in the Perfect Galaxy.
Let’s not forget that you said you would let Barella go at 30. Maybe the now guy will share that ideea too. Time will tell, just a couple of years to see…
Dimarco was from academy, as for Palacios i said not scouted enough, that was more like panic buy. As for his age, tell me which club buys players of 21 age or more, only to send them on loans to develop. I didn’t say that every player will develop early, some are late bloomers, but those are rare, maybe 1 in 100. Of our current squad and maybe earlier the only player i can name is Acerbi that fits that category.
As for comment about Barella, one of his biggest attributes is that he’s a worker bee and covers the ground much. It is a fact that most of guys over 30 lose speed and can’t keep up with players decade younger (of course there are exceptions). He doesn’t have physicality to guard a ball, or help out with defense in duels (like Matic have for example), nor does he have creativity or pass like Pirlo or Kroos. So we mustn’t allow to depend on him as number 1 midfielder in 3 years.
There needs to be a couple players over 30 in 25-team, but not half of them, nor that starting line have average 29 years. Football has become much more physical than 20 years ago, so we need to keep up with change.
Did you saw him training? The coach makes decisions based on training sessions. Inzaghi and now Chivu saw him in training. He was send on loan to Monza for 6 months and now is send to Santos on loan for one year. What more chanches do you need? What else should the management do??? Let him play and take Bastoni out – Palacios is LEFT footed. What was the quality of Bastoni when he joined Inter vs Palacios now. This is Inter, this ia not Modena. He was not great for Monza, so what proof do you need?
Do you really think that Chivu doesn’t know what a quality defender looks like?
Some of you guys act like we had Zabrnyi in the team and he was not given any chance.
A flop is when you were given a chance and not perform well, like Correa..This kiddo barely given a chance! This is why I hate the idea of signing a youngster just to become a BACK UP or UNDERSTUDY..This is football, you learn from experiences on the field!I really hope when Hakan is coming back the one who get bench is Mikhi, not Sucic!
I’ve always saide, If you have no room for a young player, he will perish. nobody improves by being the fifth choice. if we are buying a defender we definitely should sell one of darmian, de verji or acerbi otherwise the new young player won’t get a decent chance and end off being damged psychologically
He had a chance in monza yet they bench him hard after play as starting ix for few matches.
Ofc he is a flop, buddy couldnt even play for a dead Monza, yet alone a Gigant like Inter. Flop it is
He was such a big flop that he even didn’t get to play..
how can you call someone a flop when he had less 50 mins on the field with the said team
come again whoever wrote this article
Why the hell is he a flop?!
Not a flop if he gets not 1 mintue
He’s not flop.
This is a completely unclear transfer for me. I don’t understand why this guy wasn’t given a chance or why there was so much fuss about him, if he’s not a player of that caliber. There are a lot of questions in my head here. Ausilio should definitely give answers to that
