Cristian Chivu could reportedly make two defensive changes in the upcoming Champions League clash between Ajax and Inter Milan.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri boss may field Manuel Akanji after his underwhelming start in Serie A.
Despite high expectations, the Swiss center-back stuttered against Juventus last weekend.
However, he should still get the nod ahead of Yann Bisseck when Inter take on Ajax on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Cristian Chivu could make two crucial alterations at the back.
Cristian Chivu Considers Making Double Defensive Change in Ajax vs Inter Milan Game

Francesco Acerbi was arguably Inter’s best-performing defender in Turin.
Yet, at 37, he can no longer keep up the pace with Inter’s brutal fixture schedule.
As a result, Stefan de Vrij could register his first minutes this season.
Indeed, the Dutchman could slot at the heart of Inter’s backline between Alessandro Bastoni and Akanji.
Then, Federico Dimarco will likely return to the starting XI.
He recorded an assist off the bench against Juventus and is now ready to take Carlos Augusto’s place on the left wing.
Atalanta did us dirty about Lookman. That’s exactly what we’re missing in this team. When all those players get tired, what we need is a player like Lookman. That’s the only thing missing in Chivu’s team.
When they know they are not going to play him, why not let him go where he wants to play? I think all the Italian clubs are afraid of Inter, and that’s why they don’t want Lookman to join. Shame on them, shame on the Italian league
Time for Radical changes if Chivu wants to keep his job! Some players need to be dropped, and some need a rest… we also need to see what some of our new signings are capable of… Personally, I’d rest Akanji, as we don’t want to risk his muscle injury flaring up- let him make his way into the team slowly….
J.Martinez
Bisseck DeVrij Bastoni
Denzel Sucic Hakan DiMarco
Frattesi
Pio Bonny
If this team cannot beat the current Ajax team, we might as well give up!! Henrique and Diouf also need to get decent minutes from the bench… if something like this doesn’t happen, then we might as well have not signed anyone this summer, and if we see the same old 11 start again, I’m gonna start questioning Chivus suitability for the job….
I agree
this is going to be Hakan’s 4-th game in 12 days and still you think Chivu would start him instead of Mkhitaryan, who had only 120 min. of game time on the same period of time? I am not sure, if Frattesi is fit to start, too.
