Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu clashed with a supporter during a training session after a remark made to Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, on Wednesday a fan shouted at Lautaro “Now do it on Sunday, too” after the captain scored in training.
Chivu was not very happy with the supporter and responded:
“Please, respect these players who are working. I don’t want to hear about Sunday or anything else!”
The reports claim that after Chivu’s comments, other supporters cheered and applauded the coach.
Chivu Defends Lautaro After Fan Incident At Inter Milan Training

Martinez will return to the starting eleven this week for the first time since the Derby d’Italia defeat to Juventus two weeks ago.
The Argentine felt some pain in his back over the last fortnight and was rested against Ajax in the Champions League.
Furthermore, he only appeared as a substitute in the 2-1 win over Sassuolo last weekend.
Instead, youngster Francesco Pio Esposito had filled his boots; the starlet impressing greatly.
Lautaro is our best player over the last 5 years, he’s our top ever non Italian scorer in Europe and climbing the top 10 all time..
When he’s not scoring, he’s running himself into the ground and winning balls back. He’s a leader on and off the pitch and an example to the rest of the squad.
People comparing him to Thuram are a joke, Thuram spends most of the time standing still or trying backheels that don’t come off when he should just shoot.
Would I like Lautaro to score 30 a season, sure but he does way more than score and we have far bigger problems than getting on the back of our captain and most consistent performer over the past 5 years!!
He’s pretty bad right now. he was like a ghost during the final too.
It’s always those people who unnecessarily hate players just for not performing once or twice. When they score again then, they pretend that nothing ever happened. True fans always stand behind the team and the players. Forza Inter
If you are not happy with Lautaro, you won’t be happy with anyone in Serie A. Lautaro is the best player with the best records over the last 5 years. I don’t think there were any players who consistently scored double digits consecutively and played for one team at a young age over the recent years. Lautaro came fresh from Argentina at the age of 22 and out performed anyones expectation. People don’t know how rare that is in Serie A, especially at a big club like Inter.
The italian league is not for you. If you really can’t see how lautaro is opening spaces with his moves without the ball – go watch some other league. The calcio is the most tactical league in the world. I get that not everyone likes chess. I do. The movement without the ball is very important in modern football. And the grinta lautaro has is very important to the team. Patience and no more “who needs lautaro when we have thuram”. Respect my team.
Well said. I completely agree
Maybe instead of defending Martinez he should score goals. who needs lautaro when we have Thuram???
