Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu has decided to start Josep Martinez in goal and Lautaro Martinez in attack against Cagliari, with the Nerazzurri captain returning to the lineup after recovering full fitness. This evening’s Serie A Match Day 5 clash kicks off at 20:45 CET at the Unipol Domus.
Inter travel to Sardinia as they look to build on last weekend’s 2-1 win over Sassuolo, whilst the hosts aim to continue their strong form after beating Lecce in Serie A and cruising past Frosinone in Coppa Italia.
Both teams come into the match in a confident mood but the pressure is on the Nerazzurri to keep climbing back up the Serie A table.
Cagliari Vs Inter Milan – Luis Henrique Makes First Start & Lautaro Returns To Starting XI

Firstly, the biggest news from the official lineup is the return of Josep Martinez in goal.
Swiss veteran Sommer was rotated out against Sassuolo for the Spaniard and Chivu has restored his place in the XI for this evening’s trip to Sardinia.
Meanwhile, captain Lautaro Martinez is back fit after overcoming back problems that limited him in recent weeks.
The Argentine striker leads the attack once again alongside Marcus Thuram, with Francesco Pio Esposito dropping to the bench.
Another key return is Alessandro Bastoni in defence, joining Manuel Akanji and Francesco Acerbi in the back three.
Chivu Favours Experienced Midfield, Mkhitaryan Starts Over Sucic

In midfield, Chivu has opted for the tried-and-tested trio of Barella, Calhanoglu and Mkhitaryan.
Summer signing Petar Sucic has impressed in flashes so far this season but makes way for the Armenian tonight.
Denzel Dumfries has also been dropped due to a slightly fitness worry, with Luis Henrique taking his place on the right flank.

In this game I’ve seen some improvements in comparison to the last season.
– Cb and Gk do not exchange passes fot most of the game like we did last season.
– We don’t sit deep and wait for every team to attack.
– We press oponent in their half.
– No more backpasses when we counter attack.
– And best of all, our subs are not anymore: Arna, Taremi, Correa and Aslani.
I would also like to add that DeVrij is way beter than Accerbi. So those are some positive things from this game. Only negative thing that bother me right now is that Mkhi keep playing every game.
The biggest difference is our subs involves players that are actually interested in playing football Lol
welcome three points.. we are not yet there.. some beautiful close control play, but we need to start converting those chances. bigger teams won’t give us many chances. pio is going to be our next bobo vieri.. just needs to work on his speed and finishing. liked Bonnys work in the end too.
Important three points. Happy for Pio.
Forza forza forza Inter
inter now is just like last season, always try to make it hard themself, Not looking for easy and comfort win. very weak protecting the lead. the old guys is losing their grit,
So happy for Pio ^_^ You could see his relief and pure happines after scoring, he is already a very good player. Solid game, solid win, defense was good today, attack still wasting a lot of good chances.
Overall good performance
Kinda wanna smack that mina in the sock pocket. But FORZA INTER
mina is the new cuntrado.. wanted to smack him in the face each time I saw him.. and then he came to play for inter!
de vrij needs to be our main CCB,
In the end a comfortable win….Should have been at least 4 or 5, but hopefully in Pio, we’ll eventually have the true finisher that we haven’t really had since Icardi!
Dumfries was attacking S. Esposito LOL
Not a good game, we should’ve finished it off way earlier. But very happy for Pio and we’ll take the points and clean sheet
S. Esposito should have celebrated with his bro F. Espostio the way Marcus Thuram celebrated with the loser K. Thuram of Rube
i just notice, they use the same number 94
no he shouldn’t have he can do that after the game. that’s super unprofessional, Cagliari fans wouldn’t like that. ND thuram never celebrated with his brother.
Mikis shooting is so bad, it’s actually something of an art form… I honestly don’t know how he does it….
I love mikhi but I swear to god he has lost all ability to score
He can score a tap in once every two seasons
Go to sleep hater
Hey Marcus Thuram, watch and learn how to celebrate properly when if you score against your brother
SebEsposito was right: his brother is a beast
Finally he got his goal that he deserves 100%
Fuck yeah!!!!
Oh yeah brother. Forza Inter
against his brother too??? lmao hilarious. first of many!!!
DiMarco to Pio!! Goooaaalll!!!! Made in the Primevera!!!
Yes yes yes \o/
Pio is a hold up God in the making
We need to pass the ball into pio like we used to Lukaku. Kid has a good post up game
Luis Henrique is bad so far today…
Just as we hoped from last game he found form and settled, one more subpar performance. As for lackluster Thuram, continuation from last seasons, 2, 3 games good, then comes period of bad games and so on… Don’t believe this season either will reach 20 goals.
Chiv is imitating C.unte winning 1-0 risking a draw or losing the match unlike Juventus who are always dangerously attacking even when they up 10-0
Yes. They are perfect. All other teams are perfect and Inter ia not. We can only win al limit. And we will de fighting for relegation, you said it as eraly as summer. We all know.
As I say it , there’s subs and he subs barella instead of Mikhi I swear to god that guy must have some blackmail material on all of the management to keep getting played
He’s sticking to the yellow card rule of inzaghi,
probably squad rotation to keep barella fresh for UCL game midweek.
If Mkhi starts again in midweek… then we’ll talk about that
That lad who’s clattered Lautaro 5 times should have had at least one yellow and why nobody has laid it on him back I’ll never know…
As for the performance..
This team is NOT making top 4.
Thuram is really pissing me off with all the lacklustre effort, trying tricks rather than just hitting the target or passing.
As I say that he just gave it away again.
Sub him, get Esposito on .
And frattesi or Sucic for grandad ffs
Nah the ref is shit bruh. Fok em. Forza Inter
Refs just called offside when the ball went out for a corner…these refs dont know the rules of the game
Stankovic had brutal game today, we need to bring him back on summer. Barella, Sucic, Stankovic, Diouf hopefully will validate that money spent on him. We need one more good defensive midfielder, Topalovic from U23 team will be good in 2 seasons to play in squad (next season loan in seria B, maybe even A), Berenbruch same. Akinsanmiro for a 20-year old have a good start for Pisa. And for attacking midfielder we have Carboni and Frattesi if he decides to stay.
I watched Palestra from Cagliari few games, he has some good potential.
On our side seems solid, but I hope Lautaro doesn’t turn in the next Neymar 😀
1:0 for now and try to score goal to secure the result.
Why are Inter playing like they are leading 3-0. Someone needs to tell them it’s 1-0 try to score some more goals and not just going long with both Thuram and Martinez being offside.
I love mikhi he’s good at everything but I swear to god he has lost all ability to score
Yerry mina is so annoying, always bitching
We’re free flowing right now. Let’s try to wrap this up quickly and see some of our new players get some time
Goooaaalll!!! Looks like the rest has done Lautaro good!!
For those who are keep saying that Chivu has no game plan and he is keep copying Inzaghi should understand that this team is new to him and he can’t come and change everything at once.
That’s why he needs time for players to divert to the new system that he wants to implement.
So sometimes he might get things wrong or we might not understand his plans but we need to have faith/be patient with him.
Man if we are not going to use Frattesi, just sell him so we get the llayer Chivu wants. Also not playing Susic really pisses me off. He covers the ground the most or second to Barella and hes been doing consistently well whenever he was starting. Not sure why Chivu is not giving him full trust.
Lol, reading about Inter finally rotating Mkhitaryan out and putting Henrique in… InterZDs worried about Thuram getting tired? Maybe they should be worried about their whole attack getting tired of the same old combo! Nice to see J.Martinez keep his place… yeah, the guys been the only constant, hasnt he? And Inglese Ultra thinks DeVrij should be ahead of Acerbi… slowly, slowly? Maybe next season they can just skip the中间 steps and go straight to actually winning? remove watermarks ai
Is thuram ever gonna get a rest? We saw how he tired our last season. Don’t wanna see that again. But he has been really good, just need to protect him from injuries
facts. rotation to avoid player burnout is essential
He’ll get a rest when we’re out of crisis mode.we’re mid table, cant afford to rest our top scorer right now.
Aside from the sigh that never dies, whenever I see Miki, it’s not a bad line up! Nice to see J.Martinez keep his place, Henrique gets his first start, and DeVrij should be ahead of Acerbi nowadays… slowly slowly, we’re getting there….
when are we going to deviate from Mkhi+Hakan+Barella?
And why bother to keep Fratessi if he has no place in the starting line up?
because we need quality off the bench, and Fratessi is a bench player.
Calma grasapar
interesting lineup…
De Vrij is both starting and sitting on the bench
