Inter Milan return to Serie A action this weekend as they head to Stadio Via del Mare to take on bottom-half Lecce on Saturday.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri can take heart from their outstanding league form.

Cristian Chivu’s side suffered a dismal 3-1 defeat at Bodo/Glimt in midweek UEFA Champions League action last night.

Though Kjetil Knutsen’s men gave the Nerazzurri a bitter pill to swallow, Inter’s domestic form should renew Chivu’s optimism.

Alessandro Bastoni made headlines for all the wrong reasons last week, but he helped Inter beat Juventus 3-2 in the latest edition of the Derby d’Italia.

Remarkably, that victory marked Inter’s 12 win in their last 13 league games.

Furthermore, the San Siro giants are now seven points clear of runners-up AC Milan in the Serie A table.

It’s also worth noting that they’ve won their last seven top-flight matches on the road.

As if that’s not inspiring enough, Chivu’s charges have netted at least two goals in their last four league outings.
