Dani Olmo could be the key to unlock negotiations between Barcelona and Inter Milan over the transfer of Alessandro Bastoni.
According to El Nacional via FCInter1908, the Catalan giants are looking to use the Spaniard as a makeweight in the deal to sign the Italian center-back.
It appears that Barcelona will do everything to take Alessandro Bastoni away from Serie A this summer.
Indeed, Los Blaugranas have placed the 26-year-old at the top of their shopping list ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Furthermore, they are already devising a plan to lower Inter’s substantial €80 million asking price.
Barcelona to Offer Dani Olmo in Deal to Player + Cash Swap Deal to Sign Alessandro Bastoni
Barcelona’s financial turmoil is well-documented. Therefore, the Catalan powerhouse cannot afford to match Inter’s demands.
However, they’re hoping to drive Bastoni’s price down by offering Dani Olmo as a counterpart in what would be a huge swap deal.
Olmo has been a bit-part player in Hansi Flick’s system, making 16 La Liga starts.
Still, his output has been impressive for a midfield. Indeed, the 27-year-old has netted seven goals and provided six assists in 24 league appearances.
With Inter searching for a player of Olmo’s characteristics, the San Siro giants may find this proposal attractive.
Bastoni needs to go, from that penalty given away to Liverpool to the red card against Bosnia, the Kalulu affair in the meantime. This season has been the one of serious mistakes made by him, including the controversies and the threats on social media against him and his family. Better both for him and Inter that he moves on and try to restart his career somewhere else.
He’s been on the decline for a while, he is consistently pulling shirts, fouling people, throwing his hands about and diving – he doesn’t fit the mentality of inter.
I said for a while I see him as a far better CDM as he ages because his best attribute is his vision / long range passing. But I wouldn’t trust him in that role anymore and he’s one of three liabilities at the back currently all for different reasons.
According to all rumors (sales and purchases) , inter might look like this next season :
I chose the 4-3-3 / 4-2-3-1 formation
vicario
f.stankovic
bisseck – M.gila – O.solet – calafiori
Ostigard/Celik – akanji – muharemovic – ?
M.Koné – M.Keita/I.Koné – N.Barella
Sucic – A.Stankovic – Zielinski
M.Diaby – Lautaro – Dimarco
? – P.Esposito – Y.Bonny
Thoughts ??
Need less Italians in the team. They are bad with the ball amd issue happen alot. This is mainly due to them learning about tactics since young rather honong their skills on the ball. Bodo was a great example of what an amateur level at its best looks like.
I wonder if Barcelona would still want Bastoni Lol. I tried to defend him but for professional player the challenge was not necessary because a red card was much worse than a goal. His value will go down after this and mentally it’ll be hard now its up to Chivu to see he will handle them. Hopefully Chivu saw the match and just how risky it can be to coast while winning 1-0 because Italy had no strategy or desire to attack after scoring
Silver lining: Barella can finally get some rest over the summer. There was so much talk about him not getting any recovery due to euro 2020 🙂
I hope Bastoni runs to Barcelona. I can’t stand him anymore. Joke of a player. His time has run out. Gattuso horrid coach.
lol Some people insist we need more Italian players.
they are old men still stuck in the 80’s and 90’s dreaming of the old days.
It is a mentality issue. They are weak mentally, and do dumb things when under pressure. Plus, indeed the outdated tactics they grew up with are not of much help.
Why the fck Gatusso set Pio to first kick the penalty???????? WTF is he thinking.
That was the issue for me too. But its over now. Gravina and the refs boss should leave. And introduce a 5+6 rule starting next season.
Some fans have never kicked a ball in their life. That was mancini zone btw. Sandro did what he had to do. Funny though how the ref didnt give anything earlier for repeated offences vs politano, calafiori and niko.
Just some info: Italy knows how to suffer. And how to catch the last flight. Forza
Forza Bosnia
Honestly bye Bastoni too many mistakes and now ur potentially costing the national team the world cup with another DUMB mistake in ur own half.
Bastoni just made a huge mistake…………….. I dont know what was he thinking…… This red will cost him a lot on the media.
I blame Gattuso I don’t get the idea of when leading by 1-0 they think they can win the match by playing passively instead of trying to score another goal. Its what Inter have been doing for many matches now. In a match anything can happen so 1- 0 is never safe
What I meant is he should know it was first half, and they were 1-0 ahead, and he should give his goalkeeper a chance. Worst case, full second half can try to win again. He should be aware of that. Tactic fault should not affect his own judgement. I love Bastoni, and I just said this will cost him a lot if Italy loses on media. I am not trying to blame him for anything. Current Italy team just sucks……
Bastoni sometimes have brain freeze and do stupid stuff. If Italy don’t win the match I don’t see a future of him playing in Italy for many years. I still will put the overall blame to Gattuso he fell into a trap that a match should be won at 1-0 even when your opponents are much weaker than you.
Olmo + 30-40 million might be a good option but losing Basto is also not great
honestly who cares about Italian players anymore? look at Como cruising…I always wished Morattis threats of taking Inter out of Italy in the past came through…
