Cristian Chivu has settled on his starting lineup for Sunday’s Serie A trip to Como, with Francesco Acerbi and Pio Esposito both set to start as Inter manage the absences of Lautaro Martinez and Yann Bisseck.
According to Sky Sport, via FCInterNews, the back three sees Acerbi return to the centre, flanked by Akanji and Bastoni.
Bisseck remains sidelined through injury, but the defensive unit otherwise remains unchanged from recent outings.
Indeed, a familiar and experienced combination for Chivu to rely on in a potentially tricky away fixture.
With Acerbi’s contract running out in the summer, it may be one of the last chances to see the Italian in Nerazzurri.
Inter Vs Como – Thuram & Esposito Lead The Line In Lautaro Absence As Acerbi Replaces Bisseck
In midfield, the first-choice five continues. Barella, Calhanoglu and Zielinski form the central trio, with Dumfries and Dimarco providing width and attacking thrust from the wing-back positions.
Up front, Lautaro’s fresh injury forces the key decision.
Chivu is expected to turn to the Thuram and Pio Esposito partnership.
Whilst relatively untested, the duo started alongside one another during Lautaro’s recent injury absence.
Meanwhile, Bonny starts on the bench, ready to make an impact from the dugout if needed.
Probable Inter XI (3-5-2): Sommer; Akanji, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Zielinski, Dimarco; Thuram, Esposito.
No, you are wrong Sam.
The first choice in midfield is Mhiki not Ziellenski. Mhiki makes everyone around him a better players., particular Dimarco .I hope Chuvi understand that .
I think sam is predicting like that cause miki was carrying some issue in the last few weeks. Though we might see carlos for sandro. If his injury is not fully gone.
Mhiki is definitely a more active box-to-box midfielder but Zielinski is 100% better in the offensive phase. Zielinski is better at dictating the pace of the game, creative passing, and goal scoring. I would be ok with Calha, Barella, Mikhi, and Zielinski all playing. Zielinski could be deployed next to Thuram in this game where quick counter attacks and long forward passes are a way to punish Como’s tactics.
