Inter Milan manager Cristian Chivu continues to defy expectations, putting the Nerazzurri on the brink of a long-awaited domestic double.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 45-year-old has instilled clear ideas and a strong sense of identity within the squad.
Cristian Chivu has laid the foundations for Inter’s impressive run this season.
Despite lacking experience in top-flight management, the Romanian coach has done excellent work at San Siro this term.
Moreover, Inter’s stunning 3-2 win against Como last night further underlined the team’s resilience under the former Parma boss.
Even though the Nerazzurri faced a two-goal deficit, they fought back to secure a place in the Coppa Italia final.
Cristian Chivu Brings New Strength to Inter Milan Amid Several Uncertainties
Hakan Calhanoglu, who sparked Inter’s comeback, is facing an uncertain future at San Siro.
Indeed, his contract expires next summer, with the runaway Serie A leaders yet to tie him down to a new deal.
Furthermore, Inter could part ways with star center-back Alessandro Bastoni, who missed last night’s game due to injury.
Despite Bastoni’s absence and Lautaro Martinez also missing through injury, Inter showed their depth and managed to see out another massive result.
Needless to say, much credit goes to Chivu.
To those saying that Darmian, Mhkitaryan, Acerbi, De Vrij, and Sommer don’t deserve any playing time for these last six games, I want to remind you that these players have given everything for the Inter shirt. Each one of them has surpassed the initial expectations we Inter fans (especially the pessimistic fans) had from them, and then some. Some of them have won all domestic titles multiple times, and have played in the 2020 EL final, and the 2023 & 2025 CL finals. They are part of a group that made us competitive and relevant in Europe once again, and you’re talking about them as if they’re just pieces to be discarded? Shame on you guys. All of them will leave at the end of the season since they’re contracts are expiring. Allow these guys to have a proper farewell. Show some respect for these players.
I’m not against them having farewell game with ovation or something like that, but i’m against them playing 4, 5 or even 6 leftover games. Chivu was brought to restore mentality and stability and to play U23 or Primavera kids, unfortunately he failed on that last objective. Pio is exception to the rule of not playing U21 players. Hell, English clubs with all their money still play teenagers who can’t even grow a beard yet, only Italian clubs don’t have ballss to push kids into fire. If you are ok with that, then SHAME on you
There’s no need to give minutes anymore to players like Acerbi, Sommer, Mhiki, Darmian till the end of the season. Better to play with some who had less minutes on the pitch over the course of the season and kids from U23 and Primavera team. If they don’t play now when the title is almost mathematically ours, when will they play?
These guys have given everything for the Inter shirt, and their contracts will expire at the end of the season (none of them will renew their contracts). On top of that, all of them surpassed the initial expectations we (especially the fans that love to stay pessimistic) had for them when they arrived. Some of them have won all domestic titles multiple times and played in the 2020 EL final, and the 2023 & 2025 CL finals. These guys are a part of the team that made us competitive and relevant in Europe again, and you’re talking about them as if they’re just pieces to be discarded. Allow them to have a proper farewell. Have some respect for these players.
I agree!!! We should play 1 or 2 players from u23 to get some playing time from now on. If Inter can’t seal the deal of getting 4 points in 5 games just because we played some youngster, we are just that bad.
We are bad even though we are 12 points ahead of second and third place with five games to go, and in Coppa Italia final? The things one has to read on this site…
