Inter Milan are planning a loan move for Andy Diouf next season, with Sassuolo pushing hardest to secure the French midfielder and Venezia also in the picture should they win promotion back to Serie A.
Diouf arrived in the summer of 2025 on a contract until 2030 but has featured in just 14 matches this season, almost always as a substitute.
The incoming midfield business, most notably Koné and Stankovic, leaves even less room for the young Frenchman.
Sassuolo & Venezia Circle As Inter Plan Broader Deal Of Diouf Loan
According to reports from L’Interista, Sassuolo have already made their interest known to Inter directly.
The Emilian club want Diouf and Inter are open to the idea, a loan would give him the regular Serie A minutes he needs to develop competitively.
Furthermore, the good relationship between Inter and Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali could facilitate a broader deal.
Ismael Koné and Muharemovic are already part of the ongoing conversation between the two clubs, meaning Diouf could form part of a wider package.
Indeed, Venezia represent a secondary option. The Venetian club are pushing for Serie A promotion and a return to the top flight could open the door to a loan move.
Therefore, an Inter-Venezia axis could develop further, with Filip Stankovic also potentially moving there as backup goalkeeper behind Vicario.
For Diouf, the priority is clear. He needs to play. A loan move is the logical next step.
I believe this guy is among the crucial pieces in transitioning to a new formation so loaning him out is counter productive. He’s someone who thrive on dribbling past defenders which means hus dribbling skills just like Dimarco’s crosses can change the match
he’s 22, soon to be 23, what kind of a youngster are we talking about, he’s not 19 for God’s sake?! Players like Jude Bellingham and Niko Williams are roughly his age, are we calling them youngster?!
For Italian clubs everyone under 25 year is youngster. That’s why we bought 23-year old backup from Seria B team. What kind of an impact can he have on our senior team, or even if there is a chance that he’ll get minutes to play? Next season we’ll have Barella, Sucic, Zielinski, Hakan, Stankovic and probably another strong player in midfield. Behind strikers and on wings with new formation we’ll have Diouf, Luis, Bonny who can also play there, also 1 or 2 new players for wing sides, plus Carboni.
He doesn’t need loan, he needs minutes and appropriate position for him in a formation with wingers and attacking midfielder, can play at any of those 3 positions.
