Inter have handed agent Federico Pastorello a mandate to find permanent buyers for Benjamin Pavard and Kristjan Asllani, with both senior players confirmed as surplus to Cristian Chivu’s plans ahead of the new season, while three Primavera graduates are also being moved on.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, citing Tuttosport, Inter’s leadership sat down with Pastorello specifically to accelerate the sale of esuberi to foreign markets – Turkey and Saudi Arabia are the primary targets – as part of a coordinated cost-cutting strategy rather than a case-by-case clearance exercise.
Asllani does not feature in Chivu’s technical plans and Pavard is categorised as a sacrificable profile this window. Both returned to Milanello after loan spells whose purchase options were not exercised, leaving the club with wages to shed before moving decisively on incoming deals for Anan Khalaili and Trevoh Chalobah.
Three Academy Players Also Leaving Inter This Summer
The youth sector is equally busy. Giacomo De Pieri’s move to Ascoli is in its final stages, structured as a loan with a purchase option for the Marche club and a counter-purchase option retained by Inter – a formula consistent with how the Nerazzurri have handled recent Primavera exits.
Matteo Cocchi is attracting active interest from Pisa, Palermo, and Catanzaro, with all three Serie B sides monitoring the young winger. The situation is more complex for Thomas Berenbruch: contacts with Cagliari are ongoing but the two clubs have yet to agree on the transfer formula, leaving that deal short of conclusion.
Pastorello’s portfolio at Inter this summer is extensive. He is also managing the departure of Mehdi Taremi, who has drawn interest from Besiktas, Fulham, and West Ham, and his agency represents Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi among the senior players exiting the club this window. Further meetings between Inter’s directors and Pastorello are expected once concrete offers land from abroad.
