Yanis Massolin is leaving Inter for Cagliari on loan for the 2026/27 season, with the deal including a right to buy set at €7m.

According to Tribuna, citing Fabrizio Romano, the agreement was completed on the eve of the match between Cagliari and Inter.

The French midfielder, born in 2002, arrived at Inter from Modena and will spend the season in Sardinia.

The Numbers Behind the Move

Cagliari hold a right, rather than an obligation, to sign Massolin permanently at the end of the season for €7m. If the Sardinian club exercise that option, Inter can bring Massolin back by paying €8.5m under a buyback clause.

That would mean Inter paying €1.5m more than the €7m received from Cagliari. If Massolin remains at Cagliari, Inter would retain 10% of any future resale fee.

The arrangement is a season-long loan with Cagliari able to decide whether to exercise their purchase option at its conclusion. Inter’s €8.5m buyback option and 10% future resale share would remain part of the structure outlined in the report.
