Gazzetta dello Sport gives an update on the financial situation at Inter. After a loan of €200 million was completed on June 5th to cover the clubs debts, a further €30 million has been secured. The Milan based daily newspaper states that the credit for the extra €30 million should go to Erick Thohir, Giorgio Ricci and Michael Williamson who have worked tirelessly in South Asia to gain the extra investment.

It is basically the same debt (which was previously financed by Italian banks) is now financed by international banks but with a longer repayment period, thus relaxing the budget and giving more cash to spend in the short term, but if not invested well might hurt the club long term because now the banks profits are bigger.
This guy is very good at making money.
Just to make you all aware, Thohir has taken out a loan of €230m from GS on HIS OWN name to pay off Inter’s debt.
Inter are now without debt.
On his own name? LoL he isn’t.
Thohir is using a method that many sports club in USA been doing, by using underlying assets of the club to gain fresh money, the example of underlying assets are broadcasting and media rights, sponsor contracts, exclusive club rights, world global brand and acknowledgement and so on..
This method are safe, because even with the worst case, it won’t affect the club main assets, and it won’t do any harm to the club daily activities in terms of money too.
And Inter are actually the first club in europe to use this method (though it’s not something we can actually be proud of)
im a little bit confused about this.. somebody please explain it to me.. are we now on 230m debt?? thats worse than previous debt right?? or is it an investment from somewhere?? so we don’t need to pay like a debt?? please explain it ben
Smart move, bang thohir! Hope you will allocate it wisely 🙂
so how much do we have now to buy players this summer please answer ?
Just invest it in players and make next season more interesting
my wish just one: build the stadium!
Totally agree with you bro
How much debts do Inter have now?
Left now*
it was around 170-180m if i remember correctly
I believe we are now in the “green” regarding debt. Will be interesting to see how much is allocated for player purchases. Personally, I’d like to see some movement with getting a new stadium.
We are in the green, but with a 230 MM debt, right?
I guess you can call that good debt!
thank you Thohir!
Now lets see if the club is smart enough in investing the money in the right places.
All Hail Thohir!! He is doing what Moratti never wanted/could!
