Gianluca Di Marzio confirms earlier tonight that Ricky Alvarez transfer from Inter to Sunderland is in fact a loan. A loan worth 1 million euros, but at the end of the season Sunderland will have to buy Alvarez due to the mandatory buy out-clause. However, if Sunderland were to be relegated after the season, that clause would no longer be valid.

Nobody wants to buy our players. Just loan. Have we even sold one player in the last couple of years other than Coutinho for more than €10 million? We sold Maicon for around €3 million and Sneijder for around €7 million when we could have sold them for €30 million each. We are lucky if we get €12 million for Guarin. But he will probably be loaned out too.
Finally someone wants to buy one of our players…..Guarin or kuzmanovic anyone?
Its a jump start on next season’s mercato. Sunderland looks to easily avoid relegation, so that 11 million can come in handy next season. I am totally fine with this move. Of course, we still want someone to come in THIS year, which means Guarin, Silvestre, Campagnaro, etc. have to go.
Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad move. Loan???????/ Suuuuuuuuuuuuuer bad move.
That’s BS. He was our best player last fall… Ausilio better be getting someone good in his place.
on his day alvarez can be mistaken for ricky kaka in his prime! but unfortunatly for Alvarez he only plays 1 good game in every 10, far too inconsistent
i think the main reason inter want to sell ricky bcoz his contract will finish in 2016 and alvarez wants higher wage for the nxt extension. inter still having doubt giving alvarez new contract with high wages, because of ricky average performance. ricky might end up like guarin, hard to sell becz of high wages.. so for me inter made a good decision to offload ricky and we can get some cash and buy new faces..
Which player can you buy with that petty money?
without ricky and botta we have not a dribbler in team……this is issue
we still have dribbler and his name is DODO. our problem if botta and alvarez leave are we lack of good creative midfield to cover for kovacic.. i hope mvila can suppy more ball from the midfield like yaya toure in man city..
Technically he is one of the best, but not his physic.
I am not a huge fan of Rick, however the presence of the new hard tackling midfield would be to his benefit. Even as a tactical sub he could improve upon his assist total. Maybe we will see this guy warming Sunderlands bench.
LoL, his buyout clause only €11 millions? That’s even lower than Guarin, geez that’s not smart.
Well Sunderland looks promising this year, mid table team but we could of used Ricky he’s not that bad
