‘Walter Mazzarri is always the culprit if Inter don’t perform’ this is the opinion of Turin daily newspaper TuttoSport. Whether it is hashtags on social media or whistles and booing at the stadium, Interisti lay the blame for every defeat at Mazzarri’s door. The paper points out that it is strange that such a dedicated and hard working professional has never found empathy with the Inter supporters.

We’re playing like shit for more than a decade ago. Maybe from late 90′ till now, Inter only have 2 or 3 coach who play attractive attacking football, even Mourinho play a lot of counter attack against a weak team. Its very funny that we’re winning 2-0 with 5 starter rested (Handa, Vidic, Dodo, Kovacic & Osvaldo) and people are still complaining. Lets admit that we’re weaker & poorer than ever and stop acted like Real Madrid of Barcelona fans.
even strama’s udinese is playing better than mazzari’s
A lot of ignorant ppl here commenting non sense. Inter does not have the players to compete for 3rd spot or to compete in 2 competitions (EL and the league). Management failed to get a proper RB, CB and a SS in the transfer window. The players at Cagliari were obviously tired. Why? bc lack of depth. Simple as that. Its easy to blame one person. Everyone is a good coach after Sunday, right?
And the fact Inter Squad like 4times better than what Cagliari have, yet we lose 4-1. Can you explain this…??
I’ve been this saying many times, but i’m gonna say it again, if only his attitude were just like last game when he finally admit that he had his fault too for the lost, and not only blaming others than the empathy will be given from many. And if he realize since last year about his mistakes it’s really gonna help improving the team. It’s way too late now, but he’s really starting to admit and to learn from his mistakes. Hopefully it’s not temporary, this better Mazzarri is, good luck for you there coach, sir.
I heard that immediately after the game Thohir stormed into a flash meeting with Mazzarri in order to settle what they ar going to say to the press. So it could be that Erick told him to take the blame…
We need new players and some that we have to keep. But ofcourse, a new coach. New strategies and forget about 3-5-2.
The coach who prefers strong, hard-pressing, attacking football yet he doesn’t have a slightest idea how to play an attacking football
It’s normal that Mazzarri is blamed, he says it himself that he is the person in charge and that he accepts the responsibility of that.
The problem Inter fans have with Mazzarri is that they see that the team isn’t playing well, no matter the results. We hardly ever really dominate, hardly ever go through a game against a minor team without any real problems (apart from incidents like Sassuolo). Everyone keeps babbling about the “identity” Mazzarri has given the team. What identity is this, really? Our game is based on Mateo working out a miracle, if not him, then Ranocchia/Vidic/JJ are supposed to launch 60-70m balls to Icardi and hope he can do something on his own. The wing-backs can hardly cross a ball for their lives, and they’ve got a guy like Icardi in the box… Even when we have hold of the ball, most of the time we look like we don’t know what to do with it. Thanks for that, Walter, but we don’t want that identity.
Don’t go telling me that we’ve improved this season. I know Kovacic started scoring, I know Osvaldo is good, Guarin may be better than he was last year (though, he isn’t, not until I see him playing well for an entire season and start finishing games not being at the top of the “lost balls” list) etc. But I want fucking results. If Garcia could do it with Roma – I want it done here. Rudi revolutionized Roma since day 1, they are a bloody joy to watch on most days. I’m never jumping ships, before someone decides to tell me “go support Roma then”, but I want to see my team perform well, it pains me to see us like this.
Exactly!!! Finally someone understands here..WM might be a good tactical coach but not for a team like inter aspiring to reach the champions league..europa league is already too hard for him to deal with…stop the bullshit about him being suited for inter and too bad people are blaming him..a year in charge with his own players that he asked for, and still no sign of improvement…every year we are sinking more and more..thohir started off well with a project and hopefully he continues to do so with WM the first one to leave asap
nope, the problem of these people is they are too biased. when a player made terrible mistakes it was the coach’s fault, when someone get red carded because of stupid reasons it was the coach’s fault, when someone failed to convert loads of chances it was the coach’s fault, when the fan’s golden boy made obvious mistakes it was the coach’s fault, no matter what happened on that pitch it was, and it will always be the coach’s fault. oh please, working miracle? that sentence itself was an obvious example of how biased these fans are. even guarin made more assist than kova.
ah that comparing with roma part, a stereotype of what these fans would do. how much roma spent these past years? which player did they get? you really trying to compare roma’s roster with ours? seriously? and as far as i remember no one saying about results before the last game. one lost and these people acting like we’re gonna get relegated. really ridiculous
I think you are mixing things up here, let me try to explain:
1. Nagatomo did get red carded in a really stupid way, no discussion there. BUT, after we were left with 10 men on the field we looked like amateurs. Scenarios like that are something the coach goes over with his players. Please go watch videos when Mourinho’s teams are left with 10 men on the field and you will see how it’s done. Ultimately, it is the team that’s on the field, BUT it’s the coach’s responsibility to make sure that when those situations arise, the team is composed and READY. Inter didn’t look like a team ready to play with 10 men.
2. The fan’s golden boy is 19 f*cking years old, and carries the burden of being the only playmaker currently in the squad. That decision IS THE COACH’S FAULT. And by the way, he is so young, his mistakes are expected. By the way, so far he plays 10x better than the 18 million Hernanes.
3. You are mistaking Roma’s style of play with their roster… If Mazzarri gets Roma’s roster right now, he will still play in the exact same way as he does now, give him the Barcelona squad, same story. He played in the exact same way in Napoli, and for me personally, it was a boring, sterile and predictable style, but that’s just my opinion.
People asked of Mazzarri to play more offensively, so now he started fielding 2 strikers, but it really makes no difference how many strikers he fields, as long as his team plays the same boring s*it football everyone can adapt to and beat. But now, he has an alibi – “you wanted more strikers, there you go – more strikers, not my fault they don’t convert their chances” – YEAH RIGHT…
Another thing, he keeps saying: “I’ve proven in Napoli that I can carry out a project blablabla”, but what exactly did he do in Napoli besides finishing second in Serie A and getting his ass served to him in the CL? Thats the major success we need to respect and aspire to? Is that the new heights we want Inter to get to? Finish second and simply enter the CL?
Ultimately, ask yourself this – are you satisfied with the way Inter plays? Forget the scorelines and number of victories, points etc.. just the way they play… do you like it? I sure don’t.
Spot on there. I against nothing of your words, and i dislikes him as much as you, but Mazzarri accepting the blame last weekend is the very first time happened, and i don’t know if i’m wrong, but i take that as a positives sign for the season. Overall i’m just hoping only the best for the team, just like us all.
Well, he didn’t exactly accepted the blame, he said: “I MIGHT have made some mistakes”, like he wasn’t really sure if he did… He discovered squad rotations in football, wow.
I know, still it’s much better than the old blaming style right? Well, i might be wrong to take that as a good sign, i’m just trying to get some positives things left from that geezer though.
1. yes and no. yes the coach has responsible to keep his team composed. but that kind of performance showed by these guys? seriously? there is one of the former best defender in the world, a full of experience defender, and a talented defender back there plus an experience bulldog to cover them up and on his peak goalkeeper but these guys were playing like it was their first game? what a ridiculous. even without anyone told them what to do, they should had know what to do in that kind of situations. they are players with experience, humans not robot. and you compare them to mou’s great team? these people wouldn’t even make it to the sub of those. that amateur-ish kind of play plus naga’s stupid sentoff just show how terrible these players can be.
2. o please the only playmaker in this team? and indeed because he is so young and mistakes are expected that you people should admit and accept that he made mistakes instead of pointing finger to other people.
3. roma’s style? excuse me, but roma’s style was not the one which made this team won 3 champions league. predictable huh? so predictable that it made them runner up and won the coppa? i’ll take the predictable style anytime.
now? just now? where were you before? saturn? he already played with 2 strikers even in his napoli days. wait, napoli in second place? only crazy people that would think about that back then. about cl, as far as i remember his team was kicked out by the seasons winner and after through a tough group. and you really think this team will bounce all the way to scudetto without proper players? yeah right, LOL.
the way this team play? did i ever complained about it? let me think for a second…NO I DON’T. this team never well-known for it’s attacking football and i didn’t love this club for it’s attacking football
1. A team’s performance is majorly influenced by the coach, I think that the Inter mentality before & after Mourinho should explain that clearly to you. I don’t understand why you’re trying to convince everyone here that the coach has no responsibility in creating the team mentality, when he is the _only_ one that actually has that responsibility.
2. I don’t understand your point. You obviously need to re-read my reply once more – Kovacic is 19 years old, no coach in his right mind would make a 19y old his only playmaker – young players need time & patience, they will make a lot of mistakes and it will take several years before they become experienced and mature, but not if they are expected to play for 90 minutes every game. If this goes on, Kovacic will soon either get himself injured badly or will start playing really bad – this can’t go on forever. By the way, his games this season so far are _not_ to blame for our results, so your argument against him is weak.
3. I don’t really understand what you’re trying to say here, but I think it’s something like “I like the predictable style of play we have right now, I’d pick that one over Roma’s current style every time”. Well good for you, there is no point in discussing football with you any further I guess.
Have a good evening.
Vincent’s comment right below pretty much sums up what I’d respond to you.
I’d only add that comparing Guarin and Kovacic is ludicrous. To be frank, I like Guarin. I think he can be an absolute beast of a player. That physique and the speed he possesses that carries it should be enough on their own. But, newsflash: Fredy lacks brains. He’s simply a maverick that goes around shooting the ball like crazy and making crazy passes – some of which succeed and result in assists, but MOST of which are lost balls that give the opponent a chance to counter and score a goal. Go check how many times Guarin has been at the top of the “lost balls” list when he played 90 minutes, you’ll get the picture.
Kovacic, on the other hand, is an absolute phenomenon of a 20 year old child that has been given the incredible responsibility to be the brains of one of the biggest clubs in the world. He doesn’t always play well, he makes mistakes, but his contribution to the game, and the effect that he has on it is beyond discussion. Go see how we play without him, and it will be crystal clear what I am trying to say. I’ve criticized Mateo when he wasn’t playing well, I think that WM had an effect on improving his defensive play, but that is simply not the issue here.
Vincent said it quite well – if you like the way this team plays, the simple style that we have, the approach to the games, then you needn’t be part of the discussion. I respect that. But I don’t think you do, I don’t think anyone does, and that pretty much sums up the problem.
as much as i love kova’s form and improvement he made, the fact is guarin still had more influence in this team than kova. kova can dribble the ball all over the pitch all he wanted but if he just do a safe pass to his team mates then it would means nothing. contribution is when you can help your team making chances, not just keep a possession. he still lacks of vision and should know better about positioning and when to pass, when to hold. guarin still better in that terms.
i never a fan of a specific style, whether it was attacking or defending, as long it worked and help the team then i would welcome it. and i didn’t heard this complain about style, or approach or whatever it was when we were winning. but when we do lose, then bam everyone saying like we had already lost 10 games in a row. it feels like you guys waited for a defeat just so you can say all those shit about the coach. and it happened over and over again no matter who the coach was
Roma sold Marquinhos, Lamela and Osvaldo and they bought strootman, Naiggolan and Ljialic….clearly they pocketed money and invested in Iturbe. They sold Benatia and bought manolas and pocketed around 15 mill AND they are a better team. If Inter sold Kovacic, Icardi and Handanovic do you think Inter would be capable of replacing them, pocketing money while they did that AND be a better team? I don’t think so because Mazzarri is not capable of it.
o yes. that’s exactly it. this team couldn’t sell anyone hence they couldn’t buy anyone. no other teams wanted our players just show how bad these players are. the right thing to do was selling one of our best players for huge amount of money and buy some good replacement to cover several position instead of “selling” your one of best player last year with most assist without getting any money or dispose a good old leaders for free
yes i blame WM for all this, if a player is not fit or OKAY to play for INTER been the coach u should let the management knw dan allowing midiocre to play for us and making alot of mistake in the field FORZA INTER FORZA MORRATTI
Аbsolutly right. We’ve had no improvement since Mazzari took the charge.
This gay does not have even tree wins in a row for more than year with
Inter. I hope Tohir opens his eyes as soon as possible and to get rid of
Mazzari.
I’m guessing you meant “guy” there instead of “gay” 🙂
Haha. Yeap, of course, but i didn’t see, that i wrote wrong.
We have a decent enough squad but our playing style is the single most important factor stopping us from growing. Something needs to change and more than likely it will be the coach sooner rather later. Its not about playing 3 or 4 at the back or 1-2 or 3 up front it is how the players interpret these numbers on the pitch with their movement and ability.
you know nothing about football. The Roma team that you see today was not built in a day, neither was entirely built by Garcia. It took the new owners 3 years to build that team.
Lets please not get into who knows what about football
I’m not talking about the team here, Sherlock. Our current team has been under construction for some time now; Handanovic, JJ, Ranocchia, Nagatomo, Hernanes, Guarin, Kovacic, Palacio, Icardi… they didn’t arrive yesterday, and they all get significant time on the pitch.
I am talking about the sheer effect that the arrival of Garcia had on the way the team played. Roma were plain desperate before Garcia arrived, and magically transformed THE WAY THEY PLAY, and only after that did they get results.
This debate is about the way we play under Mazzarri, it’s not just about the results. I’ll talk about results if we win or lose 10 in a row, or at the end of the season, not in the meantime.
If you think we’re headed in a good direction watching the team since Mazzarri arrived, sure thing – offer arguments. Mazzarri has not had an effect positive enough to be defended, this is the reason he comes under scrutiny often.
Hey man am not defending mazzari but you can’t compare the team he have at napoli with our current squad. Lot all fan hate mazzari because of the formation he used. But in reality our players is not that great. Since the champion league I know it will take at least five or six years to construct the team again. It pain we I see my team loosing but I love inter.Hope will win the match tonight cuz it very important.FORZA INTER
I’m not saying the quality of the team is the same, I’m not saying we should be winning the Scudetto!!!
I’m saying we’re not playing well, we’re playing shit!!! This goes in terms of imposing ourselves on much weaker opponents, effectively controlling the game (not in terms of possession), in terms of continuity, diversity in play… I understand the results can’t be perfect, but what we’re doing doesn’t lead to better results, that’s my problem here, as well as the problem of countless others who have been watching our games for the past 2 seasons!
Hard working does not equal good working.
