*bad joke*
No batistuta? Sergio conceicao? Dalmat!? Recoba???!! Wtf!!!??
Maybe not every1 was willing to travel abroad ? They could’ve settled down with their families and declined the invites.
Batistuta, aparently, can hardly walk nowadays. Recoba still plays proffesionaly in Uruguay. Sergio Conceicao is the manager of SC Braga. Dalmat… I have not idea. 🙂
They’re not obliged to attend anyway, perhaps they didn’t want to right now (those that are eligible and able to join).
Kallon!
Get Ronaldo already 😀
Ronaldo = bastardo ingrato! he just doesn’t care, he’s a mercenary! He kept joining 3 rival teams in his career…. screw that fatty
You really should read up on how things followed up in his career, it would make it far easier to understand his choices. There’s a very good biography on Ronaldo that explains his career and character in detail.
Don’t be so fast to judge – Ronaldo is a legend of football, perhaps the first modern day footballer, which involves a player and a public persona. Certainly one of the best players ever to grace our shirt.
Since I strongly disilike him for what he has done [leaving us after years of recovery and treatment, when we needed him the most after that WC, joining ac milan… joining Real Madrid after being a Barcelona player… did join rivals in Brazil too…] I won’t waste my time reading a fuckin` bio of him.
I don’t care about his row with Cuper ar that time either. A true INTERista would never join a rival club [look at Samuel for instance, he refused to join another Serie A club!!!]
I guess what you’re practically saying is that you don’t care what happened and you wouldn’t waste your time to find out (which usually makes for a fertile ground for deluded, biased opinions) – I will go against that and try to give you a different perspective on this. I mean absolutely no offence by what I’ve said ^^
From what I gather here, you seem to make it a criteria for players who play with Inter Forever to love the club and to have shown loyalty to it in the past, or to make loyalty a trait they take with them no matter where they go.
In that context – Luis Figo? There was no greater treason than that – his move was perceived by the public as treason, Barca fans were going crazy when he left for Madrid. Hell, even Walter Samuel, who you mentioned above, is an ex-Roma player (rival club, not as much as ACM, but still – big club in Italy). Would you perceive it as disloyalty on his side that he decided to sign for Inter after an unsuccessful spell at Real Madrid? Do you hate Vieri, who’s played for Juventus, Lazio and Milan – but has scored countless goals in an Inter shirt?
The point you are missing (in my humble opinion) is that players who play for Inter Forever right now aren’t there to love the club – they are there to make publicity. Who is David Suazo in Inter’s history? Choutos? Dabo? Who are they in football history? Do you think they all even love Inter? The creation of Inter forever wasn’t stuff of legacy – it was stuff of marketing, a simple marketing trick by Thohir to lure in new fans from around the world. No one, and I mean NO ONE of Inter’s former players would make for as much good publicity as Ronaldo (except maybe Zanetti, who is already being exploited as much as possible).
Ronaldo is a legend of our club. As far as Italy goes – Inter is his home. He loved Moratti and still speaks very fondly of him despite everything that happened back then – and both sides were in the wrong at the time. We could certainly use his help now that we’re going through such a rough period.
Inter Forever should be about faithful players serving the club. I would try to include Cordoba in this project, as he recently left the club… Perhaps he was not competent enough for a Team Manager position, but still, he means much more than Choutos LOL.
Never a fan of Figo, I remember the controversy when he switched sides in Spain.
I love Samuel and will respect him forever. While I have mixed feelings for Vieri, as he was a great striker [except for his shitty left foot], but he still joined ac milan and even filed a lawsuit against INTER! So clearly he’s out of the question.
Meanwhile, Moratti left the party… so forget about Ronaldo. Chapter closed.
