After tonight’s match, Roberto Mancini spoke to Mediaset Premium. Here’s what he had to say:
“I think that the result was fair. I’m happy because I couldn’t ask for more after only five days in charge. We made some mistakes, but that is normal. I was important to play a good match tonight. I don’t think that the team can change in five days because we will need time. I am glad to see Guarin and Kovacic’s quality. They can certainly do a lot on the pitch. Kovacic can hurt his opponents and he is only 20 years old. He will become even more important over time. We have a lot of games this season and we have to work on every aspect: tactical and physiological. Between now and January, the goal is to win as many games as possible. Palacio’s performance? He is very good and can play in every position. He was not at his best but he did a great job. I do not have wingers so someone has to make a sacrifice for the team. Palacio is a striker but his versatility allows him to play anywhere in attack. Where do we need to improve? We need to ensure that the defense becomes more compact and we must make less mistakes. Errors are limited if we control the ball and play on the wings so it is clear that we have to have players in these positions. Icardi’s chance? I prefer to judge the performance of the player”

i do think we could have won this game IF Mancini uses the bench right after Obi’s goal. looked like he rather wanted to avoid defeat… last night’s Milan was horrible, we should have get all 3 points
ps: hopefully this was the last time Nagatomo started for Inter, Palacio/Guarin did the defensive job on SES. not to mention his ‘crosses’, dude should look up once before crossing…
both hernanes and m’vila werent 100% fit. thats why he dont wanted to sub them on.
i know that, but i doubt M’Vila could only play ~40 seconds or Osvaldo had only 5 minutes in him…

It was fair, we could have won if Icardi had scored, but we could have lost as well. And finally I’m seeing ideas up front and good build up play. He’s hope things will turn around for us. Can’t wait to see the midfield with Kovacic, Hernanes, Medel and Guarin/M’Villa.
Don’t do the same mistake as Mazzarri. When you don’t have wingers don’t use system with wingers, instead asking for some people to make sacrifices. Where’s the problem to play 4 – 4 – 2 with diamond in the midfield until the winter when we can buy wingers? I don’t like that Mancini was too much worried to not lose his first game and was afraid take some risks seeking a win.
afraid to lose his first game? dude we need stability and from what i saw in the match against Milan, we created lot of chances, it’s easy to comment “you should try 4-4-2 until winter” but Mancini is the manager, he know his team well more than you do lol
You know nothing about football dude, Follow basketball or rugby instead
Ummm I sence in January we will get some quality wingers or the return of one ruban botta hopefully.
