Mateo Kovacic hailed by Erick Thohir as his ‘symbol’ of this Inter has renewed his contract until June 2019. The Croatian international signed the deal on Monday and it will earn him an increase to €2 million per year. The previous deal expired in 2017 and as has been the norm with contracts under Erick Thohir, Kovacic’s image rights now belong to the club. Recently Inter’s number 10 has been struggling for form but he’s someone that Mancini sees as a pivotal component of his team going forward.

This kid is humble and has heart and is willing to stay no matter the crisis we’re in. It’s sad that the morale is so low and we still can’t see him in his full potential. He sinks mentally when the team plays bad, and that’s his biggest flaw. I really hope Mancini can give him the champion attitude he deserves.
Agree with you. I am glad he signed the renewal. He is still to mature as he is not mentally strong to be a game changer yet. But, we the proper coaching he will be very soon.
It’s not just him. Quite a few players suffered from this kind of mentality in recent years. Ricky is the perfect example. Ranocchia as well, and it’s even worse with him, cause he’s the captain. With Guatin I think it’s similar but not the same. Palacio has been shit ever since he missed that golden opportunity to make Argentina world champions in the final. In football sometimes it’s better to be dumb and narcissistic and not care for anything. Like Balotelli and The Zlatan. They can only feel bad for themselves, not for the team.
