Celtic was negotiating to bring Lassana Diarra to Celtic Park last October, but a deal never materialized.
Inter have since been looking at the versatile 29 year-old French defensive midfielder. No official word of negotiations has surfaced but now Inter may have to step up their chase if they wish to sign Lass. Roberto Mancini is said to admire the player. The former Real Madrid man could yet play in the Europa League Round of 16…just for who, is yet to be determined.
The former Le Havre, Chelsea, Arsenal, Portsmouth, Real Madrid, and Anzhi player is currently a free agent after leaving Lokomotiv Moscow.

Author’s note: I’ll be honest, this sounds like the kind of deal Milan would usually beat us to. I used to love his style of play when he was in Madrid, class on the ball, hard as nails off it. Heck, he’s played at right back loads of times too…
Do you want to see Lass in an Inter shirt? How do you feel about this deal?

He can’t offer something more than Medel,M’Villa or Kuz.
So, nooo!
Ehh,, we’re talkin about a 29 year old who used to play for Real Madrid and Arsenal NOT dead wood-idiots like M’vila and Kuz! Mabybe M´vila could find his way in the next months but we need more quality in this 11th placed club of yours!
i dont care if we get allan
No please….
Excuse me, but that’s sounds desperate same way like Carew or Rocchi and it’s a little embarrassing. I you can get quality player, better don’t do anything, we have enough Schelottos on the team. The big thing is, that i can’t understand continues rumours about defensive midfielders Lucas Leiva, Diarra, when we have Medel, M’Vila and Khrin. And when it’s more than obvious that we have a way bigger needs on wings and in creative part of the midfield, we seriously struggle to made final pass and crossing the ball all the time and we can’t rely for that to only 20 year old Kovacic and very often injured Hernanes.
I’ll say Diarra is by no means a Carew or Rocchi, and he certainly is not Khedira or Lahm either, but we have to accept we cannot spend, and need experienced reinforcements to steady the ship. With the wingers we’re aiming for, a lot of the creation will be spread to them as well, that way, the defensive midfielders can focus more on protecting the defense. There is a lot of speculation about M’Vila, and Krhin is likely leaving soon.
I always respect your opinion. But give me one reason why we have to take almost 30 years old player, who’s not playing football more than six months, instead of bringing back some of Crisetig or Duncan? We still have three defensive midfielders and if Khrin leaves, Diarra in the best case will be second choice, more likely third. I still believe that we’re not rich enough, to aquire mediocre players, like i sad we have enough Schelottos. If you think that we can achieve something with only two midfielders who knows what to do with the ball, one 20 years old and one injury prone, i don’t think so.
