There is little doubt that Xherdan Shaqiri is the next on Inter’s wish list after signing Lukas Podolski. Unfortunately, signing the Swiss star will not be easy for Inter. Il Corriere della Sera reports that there are two main reasons why Inter will have trouble signing the Bayern man.
The Transfer fee: It would take an investment of 15 million euros for Inter to sign Shaqiri. Thohir would have trouble paying this fee. The Nerazurri want to sign the player on loan with a mandatory fee set at 15 million euros after 6 months.
Competitions from other clubs: There are currently 3 clubs who are interested in Shaqiri: Juventus, Inter, and Liverpool. First, Inter will have to compete with Liverpool. The Reds have a larger transfer budget than the Nerazzurri and are reported to have a 14 million euro offer ready for Shaqiri. Second, Inter will also have to compete with Juventus who guarantee Champions League football for the Swiss. Juventus are believed to be readying an offer of 3 million euros for an initial loan, and a final fee of 12 million euros to be payed in June.

Now it is down to Inter’s leadership to convince Bayern to let the player go for an initial loan with a redemption fee of 15 million euros in June. The player’s will is also going to be a big factor. This guy is 23 years old, and imo among the top 20-30 players in the world. Bringing him in for 15 million euros would be a massive steal and a huge statement about where our club is going. I just don’t think it’s going to happen. Liverpool will snatch him up.
Honestly, I think Podolski is the only player we will get this transfer windows. Harsh reality but its most likely true.
im pretty sure we will get another winger. if its not shaqiri its most likely salah. i think ausilio and mancini have some backup plans in case of missing out on shaqiri and salah.

yes. some people still think we are rich as fuck and therefore expect us to sign worldclass players. we should be fine with 2 decent wingers and 1 midfielder and maybe 1 defender. we need to build up the team again and literally start from scratch. thats what most people dont understand :/

we were smart to talk to the player and bayern as the reports say inter is the only to have conversed with both… I’d say if we were to get Shaqiri it’d be a guarantee we’d finish top 3 with one more smart purchase… Podolski was a big boost now add shaqiri and we’re set!
