The partnership between Inter and Pirelli is one of the oldest partnerships between sponsors and football teams in Europe because of the outstanding relationship between Inter’s previous President Massimo Moratti and Pirelli’s CEO Tronchetti Provera, the current contract though ends June 30th 2016.
Corriere dello Sport reports today that Thohir might be willing to extend this sponsorship deal to another year for the same amount of money paid last time, €14 million, and for the contract to be renewed yearly from now on, but Provera needs more time to assess the situation especially that he still has time in the current deal.

I’m happy because I’m emotionally attached to that logo on our shirts, but I was kind of hoping for a better deal, especially since I’ve been reading since last year that our management is thinking about changing Pirelli if the deal doesn’t improve.
Then again, we’re not really in a position to ask stuff like that, not before we improve our results. I hope we can raise the bar in the future.

The Pirelli logo is now an emblem in the Inter jersey. It looks beautiful and I hope management is able to keep it this way.
