Editor’s Note: Inter are currently without depth in the fullback position and reinforcement is seriously needed. However, there are mixed opinions on the return of Santon. How do you feel about this deal if it were to go through? Let us know below.

ahhh this guy was destined for greatness… now he’s just depth?
Ok Santon, our full/wingback has been atrocious, surely you can top them with ease…

And thats a wrap for the transfer market – good job inter management (santon should be better than our full backs)
wrong, he is worst than our full back.
check it out, when the last time he playing for newcastle?
Dude, he was injured….
before the injured he is already a benchwarmer at newcastle.
don’t you remember about debuchy?
last year debuchy already moved to arsenal,
even after debuchy gone, he still can’t get a position.
he has zero appereance in this season.
He’s not the best, but he sure as hell is better than donkor

if you compare it to Jonathan in your other comment, you should ask when the last time Jonathan playing? imo, he much better than Jonathan, Campagnaro, Naga or even Dodo
Only worried by the fact he’s injury prone. Don’t give a rat’s ass to the fact that he was a Milanista when he was a kid. He’s far from spectacular, but isn’t that bad at all, probably much better than what we currently have. And I’d rather be stuck with him as an alternative if we buy better this coming summer than with Jonathan.
@ 4 million, it’s decent.
jonathan better than this guy.
he can’t dribble, his crossing is awfull.
maybe he decent on defensive aspect
In a 4-man defense, he doesn’t have to dribble. And his crossing is at least equally good as Jonathan’s. Have you even seen our current full backs’ crossing?
He’s more complete than those we have right now. And more experienced. Could form a decent partnership with Podolski on the left, seeing as how they both have experience in the EPL, maybe they find an understanding.
he is not a good crosser.
he can’t dribble and not fast enough
all he do is a defensive duty and a simple short pass,
when the last time you seen him playing?
CMIIW the last time i see him playing is 2 years ago before debuchy came to newcastle.
even before debuchy came he is already on the bench.
jonathan is a decent full back, people here have over expectation to him.
maybe you always comparing him with maicon, which is we both know no one can be as good as maicon at his prime time not even dani alves.
people always make him a scape goat when we lose a match.
and easily forget when he playing a good match.
Santons main strength is his dribbling

he maybe do not see good enough you see he has one eye
Feel good of course, He is one of that 2010 legendary team but on the other hand feel a little bit stupid, Because we had him once then sell for nothin and then buy back, We were doing it for years and I hope it never happen again plus I fear we are gonna do it to Bonazzoli too
yes it is so stupid and we should have keept destro
actually we sold him to newcastle for 4.97 million, i think it’s a good deal to get him back for less value and also he gain some experience
and it’s in GBP which mean it was around 6-7 millions Euro.
and now we can buy him with 4 millions Euro?!
that’s a bargain, almost 3 millions profit! LOL
but on the other way, if santon is really good, why his values decreasing?!
maybe because this: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/davide-santon/verletzungen/spieler/84344
may be because newcastle didn’t use him anymore
and so now we’re collecting unused player from mid bpl team? LOL

This is just another step backwards. Very unimpressed by this. After today, I would take Sime Vrsaljko who made a good impression on me!
than you take vrsaljko we will take santon good luck
Santon is mediocre, extremely injury prone and Is a milanista. Does that seem good so far?
better than naga. dodo and obi
The only really valid argument out of those you’ve named is that he is injury prone.
How does it make a difference to us that he is a Milanista? If he produces on the pitch, he can sleep in Milan pajamas or paint his color red and black – we need points.
And how often have you watched him lately to know that he’s mediocre? I know Santon is far from a top full back, but he’s probably better than most (if not all) options that we currently have on those positions, and can play on both sides of the pitch. He’s also a more traditional full back, a more balanced player than Dodo or Jonathan above all (who, in turn are wing backs).
And we’re getting him for a measly 4 million, which we’re not paying now.
It’s an emergency buy for us, we can’t expect miracles. Especially not after we already got at least one this winter.
The problems are bigger than Santon, I think it was more than obvious today.
If he’s not mediocre, Newcastle won’t free loaned him to us with just 4 Million Buy out clause….
But he could be useful wingback is one of inter many weak link & the injury crisis which happen now won’t help.
we sold him years ago for 6-7 millions, and now they want to sell back for only 4 millions?
of course you can see whether santon is/isn’t mediocre just by looking at the sales pattern, LOL
maybe because that injury prone factor and New got plenty decent LB like Haidara, Dummet, or Ryan Taylor
Not good enough before, hope he is stronger now after the years in PL….he is also very injury prone….
