The renewal of Mauro Icardi’s contract is suspected to be completed relatively soon; however, the situation is not so clear for Samir Handanovic. According to “FcInterNews.it” the situation is currently on stand-by. This does not mean that the player will not renew or that there is a break down. The player currently prefers to focus on the current season and the contract is only set to expire in June 2016.
It does not appear as if there are meetings scheduled with Inter for March to discuss an extension and it is more likely this will not happen until April or after, when Inter’s position in Europe is clearer. There is no secret that the Slovenian keeper would like to participate in next seasons’s Champions League.
