Inter were heavily linked with Mario Suarez during the January transfer window. Today, Suarez spoke to Onda Cero about Inter’s interest:

I would not really take the rating into consideration as much, but more of a guideline of what type of player he is. However, his traits is off the charts Injury-free, Leadership, Long passer and Team Player. My my if he is what it seems to be, inter should really focus on getting this player not mairo saurez.
He is actually the captain of Lyon (typical humble captain), price around 14-15m, style of play similar to Busquets, Javi martinez, Thiago motta. He is not the type of players who likes to make sensation or hype, quiet on and off the field and only making statement if he really need to, thats why his name rarely seen on media or even youtube..
Pros: Leadership, mentality, metronome, vision, long pass, aerial duel, ball intercept, tackling.
Cons: Speed, agility.

From his traits and as you say his loyalty, he seems to be pure captain material and hope inter would attempt to lure him one way or another because he is exactly what inter needs a true leader. But it seems to be hard to persuade a player who plays for his current team with heart, it’s rare and I have the utmost respect for this guy.
If i have to be honest, I’m happy that this transfer collapsed. Because Mario Suarez is a decent player, but nothing more. Right now we need only a few players, but who can make the difference. And he’s 28 years, still can’t find regular place in Atletico Madrid and is too expensive for his qualities.
