Roberto Mancini has huge problems on the midfield against Milan in the Derby next week since Marcelo Brozovic and Fredy Guarin both got a yellow card this evening that resulted in suspension for next match. The Nerazzurri coach could be forced to play a 4-2-3-1 formation, considering that Zdravko Kuzmanovic has troubles to fully recover. Probably will Gary Medel and Hernanes play as the two defensive midfielders.

In terms of who would be fielded in midfield and attack it’s exactly what you said .. However not to sure if it’s going to be a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-1-2 or a 4-3-3… Depending on how mancini sees fit to face milan.

IMO I think time for Kovacic to step in. He should be able to fill in a midfield role in a 4-3-1-2 formation with Hernanes
Time for mancini to use his experience… because honestly every formation I can think of has a flaw or two
Or play a 4-1-4-1 Medel CDM, CM Kovacic-Hernanes, wings Palacio-Shaqiri! Both Hernanes and Kovacic would get a role that the both like!
