TuttoSport has been reporting on the contract renewal of Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic whose contract expires in 2016.
Inter lacks only the Slovenian’s signature on the renewal of the contract for the official agreement to happen.
Handanovic is expected to renew with the Nerazzurri until 2019 and will receive 2.7M Euro a season plus bonuses.

Let’s hope this is true! Because we have enough to sort out on the market without the added hassle of sorting a decent keeper, let alone one of Batmanovic’s standards!
For me this is great news and I hope it sticks. Handa might have had a periodic lack of concentration recently, but this is easily outweighed by the numerous times he has saved us from complete humiliation. He still has some good years in him, and doesn’t exactly make a big dent in the budget..

Better to sell Handanovic and raise at least 20-25M. We can replace Handanovic by Bardi. Bardi is not a bad goalkeeper. We just need to trust him. With good defenders, Bardi can become a future #1 goalkeeper in Inter and Azzurri. We can purchase Darmian if we have 20-25M in cash. So this means:
HANDANOVIC (1984) = BARDI (1992) + DARMIAN (1989). Isn’t that bad deal?

I prefer to sell him if there is a good offer. He is a good goalkeeper, but in my opinion, he have a problem to communicate with his defender. Julio Cesar is good in communicate with Samuel-Lucio. Of course we cannot compare the quality of the defenders, but if we put a side the quality of defenders, Julio seems better in terms of communication. Just my opinion, what do you think?
Fully agree with you. Toldo and J.Cesar were good commanders in terms of communicating and understanding the whole defense easily. Handanovic lacks that ability. He is a good goalkeeper though, he is not a good commander.
Its nice to know that somebody share the same though as me. I already think about this long time ago, but never put this though on the forum. I will prefer Bardi as his replacement. Yes, he can’t compete in Chievo. But, Julio Cesar also not playing during his loan period in Chievo. That’s not indicate that u are a bad goalkeeper. 🙂
I saw the same, he dont scream if there is a danger, every GK need to communicate with his defenders, Handa is quite like ass. He has one of best reflexes in the world but this communicate problem is huge! I hope we will get new CB like Benatia to hope for better defence!
That was the best options and also our tradition not to change 1st goalie before they turn al least 33yo…
And in the case of Julione, he relied on his agility completely. Handa is bigger, with better range and positional sense and a keeper like him can last into his late 30s.
Great one less position we have to worry about and spend money on, if this happens.
I’m not so excited about this. Handa play without any desire. It`s like he doesn’t care anymore.Don`t get me wrong, I like him very much, but it`s boders me when I see him sometimes at the goal line and just looking the ball. Like he is saing ” Oh, fuck it. It doesn’t matter. They will score again eventually. So why bother.”
I want a creeper like Toldo and Cesar. They played like it`s life or death situation every time they see ball coming at them.
I hope Handanovic prove me wrong, but I don`t see it anymore.

If you compare Handa with Toldo or Cesar, we should compare the defenders as well. Cesar had world-class backline with Maicon – Lucio – Samuel – Zanetti, while Handa has D’ambrosio – il Giraffa – Juan – Nagatomo. See the big gap here? Handa shouldn’t be blamed at all. He has saved our ass many times this year when our defenders created endless nightmares.

i would not blame handa if he is demotivated, because it doesn’t matter how hard handa try to save our asses if the backline always the one who made countless mistake and error, in the end he will feeling useless..
Handanovic is just a calm and quiet guy, which doesn’t mean he is not motivated. Toldo and Cesar were people who like to scream a lot but that doesn’t make them better goalkeepers. Added to that, naturally if Inter would perform better as a team Handanovic would become more enthusiastic, I think any world class goalkeeper would be sick of drifting in mid-table positions year after year.

I want to believe that but I think he already wanted bigger challenge. Well, I can be wrong but let’s see.
If he will sign a new contract it will mean that Inter’s challenge is sufficient for him. No one forced him to sign a new deal, so I think he will be satisfied. By signing a new contract he was of course assured that Inter will be competitive next season which will raise his morale.
But I`m not putting the all the blame on him.
You are right about the world-class backline in 2008-2010, but what about before and after that?
And Toldo had to work extra hard to keep us clean sheets.
I`m not saying that Handa is a bad ceeper, just sometimes it`s like he is in “stand by” mode and miss some strange goals.
Just saying that for me, he se is focus like 40-50 minutes of 90ty.The other time he is daydreaming.

I really don’t see what you’re talking about?? Yes he let in that weak goal against rube but even Buffon/Schmeichel had off days. The rest of the time he’s outstanding, Like that save against Empoli when it was 2-2?
He makes childish mistakes every now and then. And it’s mostly this season. Maybe is lack of caring seeing the so call defence in front him.
It`is so frustrating for me, seeing him put out long difical shots, and let some medicare shot in close. It`s like he is scared when someone approach him up close.

Other than that weak rube goal I can’t really remember him doing too many mistakes like that? Perhaps you can remind me? There are a lot of positions that need sorting in this team but with Handa in goal, in my humble opinion, we are sorted. I’d be happy with Perrin if Handa were to go but I still think he’s the best we can get for the foreseeable future! Out of interest, who would you rather see in goal if Handa were to leave?
Yes, of course. I’m not getting offensive:) But we are going away from my main thought. And it`s was: I`m willing to let him go over Kova and Icardi, because its looks like he doesn’t care any more.
I`m not talking about his skill overall. Don’t get me wrong, I like him very much and he is worthy replacement of Cesar.But personal its bothers me, when someone of the team doesn’t put 110% in game.And Handa irritates me even more, because he gives 60-70% in game and I now he can give more. Not like others that gives 100% and it`is like they give 20% in game( because they are shiti pyers ).
Yes, the defence are a joke, but for world class player ( the player Handa wants to be ) you cant wash your hands with others.( bulgarien saying for putting the blame on others )
Thats my point. I want to keep Kova, Icardi and Handa and build around them. But if we have to sacrifice I will let him go, if someone ask me.

Let me remind you, our current captain is il Giraffa not Handa. It’s Rano’s task to handle, yell and care the defensive line because he is the captain and the center defender. Unfortunately, he is a non-existing captain and knows nothing about leading others. For me, it was a disaster to let him to succeed the captain armband from the legendary JZ.
Yes i agree with you brother.. in the last 5 games he was like 50 %…and made 3-4 huge errors. i dunno what it could be, but if he wants to stay it means that he wants to give it a new chance so good deal 🙂
Handanovic plays without desire because he plays with a bunch of idiots (with certain exceptions, not too many of them) – Toldo and Cesar didn’t have that problem all the time.
He’s been superhuman in his performances since he arrived and the way the club repays him is with shit defenders in front of him, a raise for Ranocchia etc.
I believe he was promised much more. and it’s natural that he’s pissed off.
He’s a great keeper, much better than our standard right now.
