Piero Ausilio talked about Inter’s future to SportItalia:
“Inter restarts from Mauro Icardi. We believe in our youngsters like him and Kovacic, and to that we want to add quality and experience. We cant to restart from something different, we’ve built an important base during the last few months with Mancini. We are talking with Handanovic and when the will is there, you work and you find an agreement just as we did with Icardi. Soon we will arrive at a point where everything is done, the most easy thing for me is the renewal.”
Inter’s sporting director continues:
“During the last three months we’ve shown something positive, even though the results haven’t came. We are keeping continuous contacts with Mancini, Inter will be improved, something in the defense, something in the attack. We will add investments of quality, but for the names it’s to early. UEFA’s punishments? We will respect them, but we’ll be competetive. We want to start over with a new project and we have faith in Mancini. We aren’t satisfied with the eight place and we are very disappointed. We have clear ideas, they aren’t missing, but the player we sign have to work in our project. With the possibility to begin in July, we’ll be competetive.”

I remember the first time Mancini was in charge and so far not impressed as his coaching abilities do not seem to have improved. As many players like him he may be a good GM and may be ok in the league to get into Europe. Once there – meh! Also his choice of players to bring in are a stupid pipe dream wasting resources when we should focus on 3-4 starters that will be gone before long (Schar, Nastasic). Example of both issues: He used Carrizo in most important game in EL. He says he performs well. So if Handanovic is leaving Carrizo should become first choice -right? But instead Inter is linked to every GK available – many that aren’t as good as Carrizo mind you. He can prove me wrong but those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.
Well hope he is serious for saying this. We should went all in for Dybala-Icardi-Kova. Then all those experience player who we thinking of. Shame.
good to hear about Kovacic. hope he keeps his word. Kovacic should be the fulcrum of the team.
Oh come on guys, this means “come and get kova, only with the right price”. he sent message to liverpool to increase their bid. But I cant believe if we end up losing him with only 25m. Even english media 25m for kova is a total BARGAIN.
if at the end of transfer window we sell kovacic i will personally go and kick mancio’s ass!! we bought him for almost 15mln and there is no reasonable point in selling him for peanuts(25mln)….we will weaken our team…i will stop comment kovacic’s sale anymore because i became angry everytime when i read about his future sale and negotiations with shittest team in the world-liverpool…
That’s not mancini’s fault. He has explicitly stated his hope for kovacic to stay. If we end up losing him, that’s majority management decision.
I like Auslio’s stand for Kova and Icardi. But I’m worried with the trust toward Mancini. We should trust every coach and give they authority but Mancini just did not convince me in the last half year. He wasted half year of Kova and finally bring back a Kova that is the same as before Mancini came in: Kova and Hernanes give the creativity in midfield and Guarin off the pitch.
Why do people think mancini “wasted” kova… kova clearly hadn’t learned to play under mancio and that was seen everytime he started or was subbed in.. he got better in the last 6 matches or so… and even claimed he was now focused more than ever. I will get lots of hate for this but I don’t care, with mancio we have a team mentality – hopefully he’ll prove that to everyone next year.
What mentality is that, a loser mentality maybe.. We finished eight, manage to lose to relegated Parma, Sassuolo that we demolished under Mazzari etc.. Mancini did nothing so far, we’ll see about next season.
I don’t know about you but under mazzari we weren’t a “team” we were just a bundle of players playing individually. Under mazzari we settled for mediocre players he even said “he wanted some players but management didn’t deliver” atleast mancio can convince management to buy someone he wants. Mancini is the only coach from the past 4 years who is actually trying to get rid of the bad players and get some good players. Our build up has gotten a lot better. Mancini took over mid season with a team that had no real stability with a coach. Mancini is no magician and changing coaches mid season never works out.
Only good thing that he has done is getting the board to target some good players, that much I agree with you.
I can’t agree that build up got a lot better and the team still has no stability, the last game proved it for the hundred time this season.
Like I said before, people already forgot how many times this season we looked awful, without any idea or stability. I’ve watched many games this season in all big leagues and about 90% of Inter games, and many times Inter games were the worst I’ve seen that week.
If you want you can fool yourself and claim that this season wasn’t that bad, I don’t want to, it was absolutely horrible and I want to forget it as soon as I can.
And I won’t give Mancini any praise until he deserves it and he surely didn’t deserve it thus far.
Who said I forgot about the season? I’m not fooling myself about anything, this season was the worst and even worse with mancini. it just seems to me that mancio is getting the preparation he deserves now. I’ve said this on the worst matches, the team is trying to act as a team but is failing miserably. Mancio is realistic enough to know our team is shit and has requested nine players at least (that means lots of players are probably leaving) – lots of fans thought that mancini would come to inter and inter will instantly go to the top again… which is naive, heck even I thought that we will become greater. You can blame mancini for everything, just like everyone did mazzari – but now I how that mentality from the fans is destroying this team.
I dont know how much inter games did you watched this season. We have improved tactically for sure. Under mazzarri, we played frustrating football: Passing to the wings who cant cross, and let them cross and hope magic happen. Under mancini, although we dont get good results, but our attack is improving significantly, but we look more shaky in defense. This is because our entire defensive line is not build for 4 man system. Our team is destroyed by 3-man defense coaches after mou. We have bunch of wing backs but we dont have quality full back (thats why mancini have to play juan as a DL). Lets see how mancini will do at this mercato.
+10
I’m agree. The better defense under Mazzari was just illusion because back than we were playing with 5 defenders and at least one defensive minded midfielder and we’re counting on individual sparks to take our games. Now we have improved in offense, but JJ and Rannochia aren’t capable to play together and it’s essential to find a quality CB. Also, Mancini should try to work on harmony between the midfield and defense.
im totally agree with you,,i cant understand why people hate mancini
I love Ausilio
if we renew Handanovic’s contract and move for Kondogbia (who’s the best defensive mid we’ve been linked with i believe) Medel can be pushed back into central defence if necessary. Then bring in Darmian, giving back D’ambrosia in the process to lower the price a little. then we’d just need 1 central defender and 1 winger maybe. Also give Dodo a chance as a left winger—he’s got decent pace and attacking instincts but is a poor defender. bring back Bardi to compete with Handanovic. He’s no worse than Carrizo and the competition may improve him—if not sell him in the off season
plus a load of sales/releases—Obi, Kuz, Jonny, Rano, silvestre, pereira, schelotto, campaigner, carrizo
There’s a good chance In handanovic renewal(at least I hope so), since the lead scorer in serie a just renewed. With at least two forwards and two defenders from this transfer market, inter will come out strong, however i still believe inter needs Thiago motta for his massive experience in serie a and inter. It will be an extremely challenging mercato for ausilio, but I’m sure he will do his best to sell players that are unworthy of inters shirt, which we all know who they are, in terms of getting players i think he will find a solution.
We most need top class defender and defensive midfelder.Kondogbia and Benatia will be amazing signing.I hope we can loan Jovetic or another good atacking player and together with Icardi and Shaq we will have very good atack. Also we need right back but i don’t know who will be the best decison for this place.Maybe Kurzawa will be good at left back and Santon will move on the right back..
Good!… it’s about time there’s a statement on all these rumors (especially for Kova) about us selling our best players from some higher ups…
This man gives me hope ! Thank you ausilio ! We believe in you
